Desert Flower

.
From the desert you arose.
You stood like a flower in the midst of the aridity

Your strength spoke louder than your beauty

Imposing, proud to have fought and to have conquered

Lonely, dependent on nothingness

Trained in the face of sheepfolds and storms

Bronzed before the inclement sun by day

and overwhelmed by the frosts of the night

Hidden before the magnificent mountains of sand

that with the air transported the sand that clothed her

wild, wary, defensive,

that's her nature, that's what she had to live with,

from the far east, she embarked for a new destination

carrying with her a hope

of a new life

of new climates, of new airs

of perhaps exchanging his terrifying loneliness for the caress of the rain

a caress of rain,

that wets her

that soaks it, until it feels full

and feel that it is similar to other species

that she can find peace and beauty in other places

to become unrecognisable

but for everyone it will always be the flower of the desert,

that fought against the wind, against the sand, against the sun and came out unscathed.

Flower of the desert, beautiful, that conceals all its sadness and tribulation

that rises up to continue shining.

To keep on insisting, to keep on living

She won't give up, she won't give up

Because her school was the desert, her tutor was the sun

her trials were every sandstorm

that made her the flower she is today

with memories that hit her but that encourage her to go on, to live

to go on, to live and not to let go

as long as she lives, the flower of the Desert will set an example

that she never let herself be defeated!
