Smokers are 7 TIMES likely to develop gum disease than a non smoker.

                   ???What is a gum disease???

Gum disease which is also know as periodontal disease can be divide into two categories .
In a less severe condition it is called gingivitis whereas if it worsen into a more severe scenario it is usually refer as periodontitis.Research has shown that near to 50 percent of adult have some form of gum disease.

This happens when an infection occurs around the gum and gradually destroyed the structures that supports your teeth. It all started from the residual food remain in your mouth. The bacteria slowly make their way invading into the gum and form plaque and calculus (stone like structure around your teeth).

Early stage of gum disease can be easily heal by daily brushing, flossing and also regular scaling session twice a year. However if a gum disease is left untreated for too long it will then progress to a more complicated stage. The supporting gum and bone around teeth will slowly resorbed causing your teeth to become more shaky , pain and have no choice but to pull out.
