WEB 3.0

The WEB 3.0 is the latest technology, and it will come soon to the world and that change the use of the Internet. A Cryptocurrency named Ethereum co-founder Mr. Gavin Wood introduced WEB 3.0. This is a technology that will be available in the coming time so the users can take benefit from Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine learning. WEB 3.0 best part is that it will be compensated users for their time spent on the web which was not available before. WEB 3.0 is also known as Semantic Web that goal is to make Internet data machine-readable.
Web 3.0 is the evolution of Web 2.0 and it uses decentralized tools and blockchain Web Due to this now users will get a lot more power.

Now let me tell you why web 3.0 is different from the other ( WEB 1.0 and web 2.0 ) and what are its benefits.

So then let's start from the beginning

WEB 1.0

WORLDWIDE WEB ( Web 1.0 ) came in the year 1989 and was invented by Tim Berner, this was the first page of the internet from 1989 to 2004. Web 1.0 was like a newspaper where people could only read the information displayed. Web 1.0 is also known as (READ ONLY ERA ). If someone wanted to know something, then they can search on the search engine,( yahoo.com) and after that, some information would come in front of them, they would read-only. There is no interaction other than reading.

For eg -: if we want to understand WEB 1.0 in a simple language so we can look at Wikipedia because There is a lot of information on Wikipedia and people read it and some hyperlinks also come on it, on which we click, then we get more information.

But over time the internet changed and upgraded due to technologies. Users also changed with the internet and they started consuming information on a big scale. Because of this WEB 1.0 also changed from WEB 2.0.

WEB 2.0

WORLDWIDE WEB ( WEB 2.0 ) came in 2004 and it was the second page of the internet. WEB 2.0 that we are using right now on and the biggest upgrade in Web 2 was the interaction that Web 1 didn't have. Web 2 is such an internet on which we can read as well as write our content through Applications and Websites. In simple language When we go to any internet page and take information, then those pages also take our information and share it with other companies, and these companies use that data to show us better and more personalized content.

For eg -: whenever we do or search on YouTube, Facebook, and Google, then these sites are also showing us other related content to the same by which we give more time to those websites and this will benefit those companies and they will earn money. They also earn money through advertising and WEB 2.0 main target is advertising.

Companies sell the user's data through advertising and after that, only those ads will be shown to us which would have been searched on our internet. According to the search history of the users, it is decided which ads they want to see.

For eg-: my birthday was on the 10th FEB last month and before my birthday I was discussing on WhatsApp with my brother that I will take the phone this time. then after that, I started getting many iPhone ads and offers on the internet. I was shocked because I first discussed it with my brother and I didn't even search on google.

To be honest, All this happens only through machine learning and big companies like FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE, TikTok, etc use an algorithm that recognizes our taste. Before you know anything, the machine learning platform of social media gets to know what is going on in your mind. And it is not right that all your data is going to all these companies and they are selling these data and earning money.
Recently Apple introduced a new feature in its A14 Bionic chip where the users have an option to check that which app to track their activity across other company apps and websites for advertising or sharing their data with data brokers. Because of this update by Apple, according to Facebook, may have a loss of 10 billion $ by the end of 2022.

That's why web 3.0 has to be done to eliminate it.

As I write in the first para that Web 3.0 is the evolution of Web 2.0 and it uses decentralized tools and blockchain Web Due to this now users will get a lot more power. Before web 3 you used to be a product yourself but with web, you will be an owner yourself. You will have so much control that you will control your content according to yourself and not according to someone else. youtube also has an alternative called ODYSEE and it is based on the Blockchain. No one can stop you from putting your videos and downloading them on ODYSEEE and you can also earn library tokens from here. The specialty of Web 3 is that it will keep your data secure and private so well that you can access information without revealing your identity.

PROS OF WEB 3.0

• Anonymous single sign in
  When we use the internet, we go from page to page, and so many times we have to re-enter our information. Every time we have to create a new account and no one likes that. Web3 will look into this problem and bring such an update in which you just have to sign in once and then after that you will not need to sign again.

• Self Governing
  This means that users will get power from which they will be able to control their content by themselves. We can set rules and create. Like Facebook sets the rules for us now but with the advent of web 3 it will be reversed and users will set the rules for themselves and they make their decisions themselves.

• Better search
  Whenever users have to search something, so that they go to Google, type, or use Google assistant. Voice Assistant and it's quite simple and particular but in WEB 3.0 they are made voice assistant natural due to which the user experience will be very good. This voice assistant will be used as like you are talking to your friend. Most of it will work inMetaverse, which we will get to see in the future.

• Personalised Browsing Experience
  In today's time, we use the internet now, so we have to see saree websites for everyone. And if we talk about ads, then whenever we search for something, we see related ads. But you will get to see an even bigger upgrade in Web 3.0 so that whatever websites we are seeing will work according to our taste.

• Uninterupted services
  In today's time, if any service goes down, then the maximum effect reads to the users who do daily service. For eg -: Recently WhatsApp was down, all its users all over the world had a lot of trouble. Web 3.0 solved this problem because as I told you above WEB 3.0 is based on Blockchain and the Blockchain means is too decentralized the data. Being Decentralized, the servers and data of WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and everything else will be stored in different chains, and in the future, if one chain breaks down then the rest of the chains will work and it will not cause any problem for the users.

CONS OF WEB 3.0

If 50 % of the people are in support of web 3, then 50 % are also against it.

• Ownership concern
  If the user gets complete control of the website, then he will control it according to his own, but if he is not able to do it properly then who will control him. Therefore, it is necessary to have an owner solve such a problem or to take any decision.

• REGULATION ISSUE
  Some people say that if the data of the Internet is decentralized or distributed in chains, then it will become very difficult to handle cybercrime.

• what about the old hardware
  When this much upgrade comes in Web 3, it is obvious that old hardware will also have an effect.
  Maybe it will stop working properly because web 3 will be so featured and loaded that it will force auto-update and which will make the hardware unusable.

• Force Upgrade
  All the companies around the world will also have to upgrade or shift to WEB 3.0 and if they do not do this, then they will not be able to survive in the market for long.

• Easy Access to see other personal data
  As you know all the data of the users is decentralized which means distribution. It is said that due to being decentralized, the data of the users will be accessible which means anyone can see users' data and profiles. By the way, blockchain has always said that this does not happen because blockchains are secure.

According to me, WEB 3.O will be good for everyone because it is closing the barriers which the big company has opened for its own benefit.
