in blurtconnect •  2 years ago

Welcome onboard for today's episode of our health and hygiene daily Contest.

Just like we stated in our introduction post, we will be running weekly/monthly contest to reward good content creators in blurt.

Our topic today is How to Prevent Malaria (How to Prevent or Minimize exposure to Infective Mosquito bites)

source

Mosquito bite prevention is one of the most adequate ways to be safe from Malaria infections such as the use of mosquito nets, clearing of stagnant and breeding places for mosquito, fumigation of the house with insecticide and so on.
Malaria has killed a higher percentage of third world countries especially the infants in Africa so it should not be taken lightly with negligence.
Thanks a lot.

People can prevent mosquito's bite by wearing clothes that fully cover the skin . Use mosquito nets which are sprayed with insecticide . Apply mosquito repellents .
Controlled spraying of every part of a house , under the furniture , behind the curtains , dark corners , stores , and removing all junk items will eliminate the resting / breeding sites of mosquitoes .

Fumigating our environments is essential for malaria control in the society.
Thank you for participating.

Stagnant water is the major breeding ground for mosquitoes. Therefore, we should clean our drainages and never store dirty water close to our building.
Lastly, always visit your doctor when you feel sick as a result of mosquito bite.

This is an advise people neglect so much in Africa.
Thank you for bringing it again to limelight.

In my country, Venezuela, malaria had been eradicated by a vaccine made by a Venezuelan doctor, however, due to the economic degradation promoted by a "socialist" government, it has reappeared again. Basically, there are no medications in the areas where this disease was frequent and the mechanisms that are used again is prevention:

  • Use mosquito nets with some type of long-acting insecticide
  • Use mosquito repellants
  • Eliminate breeding sites; This last point is precisely the one we pay the least attention to. The places where water for human consumption is stored must be sealed and avoid the stagnation of water in unused containers.

With these 3 points, the proliferation of the mosquito that transmits malaria can be prevented in a high percentage

Wow, this is a wonderful contest and i really appreciate the fact that @blurtconnect-ng is bringing health topics into it's ecosystem.

As we all know, malaria is an infection that is caused by a bite from a female anopheles mosquito 🦟. However, there is a microorganism in the body of this mosquito (called plasmodium malariae) which is released into the body of anybody the mosquito bites, thereby leading to Malaria.

The following can be done to avoid malaria ;

  • clean the environment thoroughly to avoid stagnant waters and moist places because this a moist environment is mosquito friendly and a stagnant water is a good place for laying their eggs.

  • always sleep under a mosquito net so as to avoid the invasion of mosquito

  • wear long sleeves when sleeping

  • make sure to report to your doctor if feeling the signs and symptoms of malaria which includes; headache, fever that maybe accompanied with rigor, loss of appetite et cetera.

  • the use of an insecticide is also applicable to eradicate mosquitoes but certain precautions must be taken while using insecticides.

You have enlightened us so much with this comment.
Thank you for participating.
