And the voice of freedom cries
O Africa
Black nations of the world
How dark is your justice
How unjust are your judgement

O Africa
How dark are your ways
The sons of freedom are slaves in you
The children of peace faint in violence
Yet you claim to be their home

And I cry with you always
Which aliens are their masters
Why the ugly masks on their Angels
Why are men slaves in their own lands
Is this the beauty of Africa

Institutions of justice perish in injustice
The goddess of justice remain just a statue
Raising the sword of justice just in vain
Vanity of vanity
Cries the voice of liberty
In the face of injustice
Where is freedom

The voices of freedom cry out in vain
Liberty vanishes out of sight
Justice fades into darkness
The oracles media in shame
Is this because it is in black nations
Is this the pride of Africa

No one calls for justice that never lose his freedom
Is tears of freedom the beauty of Africa
