It is the constitutional right of any citizens of a given nation to vote for their presidential candidate. Out of the 18 registered political parties in Nigeria, 3 are well known and seem to gain more ground across the 36 states of the federation. These parties include the People Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The battle mode has been drawn for the survival of the fittest. Of the 3 political parties, the one known to possess the highest number of vote will be tagged winner of the 2023 presidential pool and be given the mantle of leadership on the 29th of may as the next president of Nigeria. In other words, the result of today's election will determine what next for Nigeria (provided the election is not rigged)
A lot has happened today during the course of the election. The result gotten has not been fair at all as there are plots to rig the election. Ranging from the unavailability of some electoral materials to the omission of Labour part logo in the ballot papers and to the threat of some thugs, hoodlums, and corrupt politicians on patriotic citizens wanting to exercise their franchise has been among the challenges bedevilling today's electoral processes. In one of the videos i watched today it was said that some willing voters were disenfranchised and ordered to stay at home if they would want to vote for the Labour Party presidential candidate. Lots of things have been going on till this moment, but all we hope and pray is that God's good will be done in Nigeria.
Where there is unity and love, there is peace and coexistence. This will bring about development in the country and sustainable manpower. Enough of wasting lives and properties, enough of Godfatherism, enough of money embezzlement and corruption, enough of inter-ethnic and religious crisis, favouritism, conspiracy, inordinate ambition and indiscipline. When the political structure is well defined and of a good interest to the masses, this will bring about development and progress in a given country.
We are to be a custodian of peace and unity and rather shun violence and embrace love. From our national anthem, it's usually stated that "the labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain." We mustn't fail at this time but do what is right in line with the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria.
Since the voting period for presidential candidates is over, all we need do is to pray for God's help in ensuring that the person with the highest vote count (without riging the election) will be the right candidate to take on the mantle of leadership of our great nation Nigeria because if God is not involved in our decision making, then the whole exercise will definitely be in futility.
7 days to come marks the election date for aspiring governorship candidates and House of Representatives. Provided we have the rightful set of leaders ruling, Nigeria will definitely be a better place for you and me. So let's keep exercising our civil rights and stand for what is just. Vote competence, transparency, and accountability. Vote for someone that have human feeling and able to put themselves into the shoes of others.
So, congratulations on the just concluded presidential election, and I wish you the best in the forthcoming governorship election as well. I pray by God's grace that the new Nigeria we are all praying towards will emerge soon, and we shall all live to rip good benefits from it.
Thank you for your time, and do have an amazing moment.
