I'm presently spending more time on Blurt than on Facebook. It's a fantastic concept. Blurt has the potential to dethrone Facebook as the social media king. When compared to Facebook, there are still a lot of latencies.
Blockchain, like bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies), has the potential to render banks obsolete. Blurt has the potential to render social media platforms obsolete. It won't be easy, but it won't be impossible either.
Why do we require a decentralized/open source social media platform?
Facebook is fantastic. However, it is becoming increasingly risky. It has the ability to affect billions of individuals for their own greedy purposes. It earns money by selling our personal information. It is easy for corporations and governments to influence and modify people's opinions in the age of Facebook. We unwittingly granted Facebook much too much power. This isn't good. In many countries, we have separated the state from the church. Nonetheless, the community's strength is far greater than that of Facebook. Blurt is a positive initiative, but there is still a long way to go.
Advantages:
• There's already a lot of interest, thousands of people have signed up.
• It's a fantastic concept to reward content creators and curators with Blurt crypto.
• The data is yours to keep. Plus, it's more private and ad-free.
• The code is completely opensource.
• It is totally Decentralised.
What Blurt should do to gain influx of more users
• Copy all of the essential features from Facebook, or at least the majority of them.
• Facebook migration tool that is simple to use.
• More rules are needed to keep traders (those who purchase and sell Blurt) from bringing 0 or negative value to the platform.
• Reward individuals that assist their friends in leaving sign up on Blurt.
• Create a genuine sense of community. More powerful than a billion dollar corporation is the community.
• Branding and marketing should be taken seriously
• Accessibility across a wide range of devices and platforms.
• Influencers, developers, and contributors should be rewarded more.
Long live Blurt!
Long live cryptocurrencies!
Long live Blockchain Technology!
