Chicken tikka masala recipe

Material:

3 boneless skinless chicken breast fillets

125 gr plain yogurt

2 tbsp lemon juice

6 cloves garlic, chopped

1 tbsp chopped ginger

2 tsp salt

2 tsp cumin

2 tsp garam masala

2 tsp paprika

Rice and naan bread for serving

Sauce Ingredients:

3 tbsp oil

1 large onion, finely chopped

2 tbsp chopped ginger

8 cloves garlic, chopped

2 tsp cumin

2 tsp turmeric powder

2 tsp coriander

2 tsp paprika

2 tsp chili powder

2 tsp garam masala

1 tbsp tomato puree

800 gr tomato sauce

300 ml water

250 ml heavy cream

10 g fresh coriander, for garnish

How to make chicken tikka masala:

  1. Cut the chicken into bite-sized dice. Combine diced chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, salt, cumin, garam masala, and paprika.

Stir until the spices cover the chicken.

  1. Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour or overnight.

  2. Preheat the oven to a temperature of 260 degrees Celsius. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  3. Pierce the marinated chicken pieces using bamboo or wooden skewers, then place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  1. Sauce: Heat oil in a large saucepan over medium heat, then sauté the onion, ginger, and garlic until tender.

Add cumin, turmeric, coriander, paprika, chili powder, and garam masala. Keep stirring for about 30 seconds until the spices are fragrant.

Add the tomato puree, tomato sauce, and a cup of water and bring to a boil and cook for about five minutes. Pour in heavy cream.

  1. Remove chicken from skewers and mix with sauce, cook for another one to two minutes. Garnish with cilantro and serve with rice or naan bread.
