Your body uses between 60% and 70% of its energy for your BMR. However, your BMR may change based on the following factors:
• Your age;
• Your calorie intake;
• Your level of activity;
• Your muscle and fat percentages;
While some believe sex plays a part, at least one research found no effect of sex on BMR. Exercise may also alter your BMR, however it's difficult to determine exactly how. It could decrease if you require a lot of rest. Your BMR may decrease even if you run frequently and then stop.
