Butterflies are a group of insects belonging to the Lepidotera nation, which means they have scaly wings. Butterflies are a small part of the 155,000 known Lepidoptera species in the world. Most of the Order Lepidoptera are pollinators that ecologically play a role in maintaining ecosystem balance and enriching biodiversity. Apart from being a pollinator, butterflies can also be used in evaluating environmental quality and as an indicator of environmental change because butterflies are very sensitive to changes in habitat conditions, especially when the plant structure changes. Many of these butterfly species are very beautiful and in demand by many collectors.

In his life the butterfly undergoes shape changes with complete metamorphosis, this life cycle includes the adult-egg-larva-pupa form. The embryo inside the egg will develop into a larva. The egg phase usually lasts a few days or shorter and even hatches before being laid. Larvae have stages of development called instars, where at each stage they go through a process of skin turnover (ecdysis) which is regulated by the hormone ecdysone, because each increase in body size in one phase requires a new, larger integument. Larvae develop into pupae (cocoons) until they become pupae, and adults (butterflies) are regulated by hormones.

That's a little knowledge that I know. Hopefully this information can add to the knowledge of all friends. Thank you for dropping by at my post. Until we meet again in my next article about various other animals.
