Sunshine Please!😎
I can do this…….Silvertop has hiked in the rain before!😇
Today’s hike became a game of hiking from one empty off grid cabin to the next and trying to staying somewhat dry Lol!😅
First stop, Grant cabin, my Canadian friend and neighbor!
Grant always says…. “Make yourself at home, we hardly use our cabin Silvertop!”😊
His dry outside porch was just the break I needed!
After recomposing myself, I headed up to Paul’s cabin.
We lost Paul a couple of years ago, and the new owner has this cabin on the market.
Thanks Paul for the shelter from the rain today, we all miss you………..
Finally I reached the summit of the “High Trail” and Tim’s cabin!😊
I took 15 minutes to make some comments on our blockchain, and that’s when I noticed the clouds rolling in!😮
The view of the valley far below was suddenly completely gone!😳
We were socked in!!
My jeans were soaked, I knew it was time to go!
The rain intensified…… I was cold, wet, and the rain was coming down hard!😬
I could feel wetness seeping through my expensive Colombia “waterproof Lol” rain coat……
I haven’t found any outdoor gear that truly can stand up to the Pacific Northwest weather Lol!😅
At this point all I could do was keep moving downhill……😇
When I finally reached our paved road I was below the cloud ceiling……..
20 more minutes and I was home!🤗
I had previously laid up the kindling for tonight fire.
I quickly struck a match, and the flames danced behind the glass door in the wood stove……… It was good to home!😊
Till tomorrow…… no rain please…..Silvertop Mike 😊
