Is Summer Over? 😳
Mother Nature has a very interesting way of protecting the trees in the Summer, in the Pacific Northwest!😊
All winter long, we get buku amounts of rainfall…… and snowfall!
In fact Mt Baker the active volcano that overshadows our valley, holds the world record for snowfall!😊
At lower elevations, that translates into rain, sometimes a lot! 😅
“June-U-ary” continued the steady rainfall this year………..
Then, suddenly the rain stopped………….
Silvertop was born and raised in Cincinnati, where Summers are 80 to 95 degree Fahrenheit, with high humidity!
Once ever 7 to 10 days, a thunderstorm would roll in, dumping a lot of rain, dropping the temperatures down into the very comfortable 70’s!
Ahhh………🤗
Back to the Northwest…………..
The last week of June the big water faucet in the sky was shut off!😇
“ Alexa, what is the chance of rain? “
“ Silvertop no rain is in the forecast for the Next week “
Honestly if Alexa could forecast a Month or two out, you would get the same answer……………
NO rain…………😮
Starting in early July, the trees start dropping their leaves, it actually looks like Fall!🙄
This happens every year.
You start to see the trails covered with leaves like in the first photo!
Up the Gold Mine Trail, Hayden creek, normally had fast moving water.
You can see by the photos in the middle that this creek is almost dry……………
The trails are dry and dusty, and the “locals” are complaining that a high today of 82°F is 10 degrees too hot!🥵
Yes it’s summertime in the Pacific Northwest my friends, and Silvertop is enjoying it!😎
