This seagull was flying up in the air, then dropping a mussel on the rocky shore to break it open!😊

Today took Silvertop and Liz, to the Fairhaven Marine Park!
We have been under a “ High Wind Warning “ for yesterday and today, so we thought it might be interesting seeing the storm and waves coming in from the Ocean!
This is a protected bay, so the main brunt of this storm never reaches this location.
That’s always a good thing!😊
Today being a Sunday, I figured it was a safe bet that we would not have any train traffic…………
Silvertop started walking the train tracks!😇
Take a look at third photo………
Off to the right/ West, is the saltwater bay.
The next photo is the same spot, looking left/ East to a fresh water lake!
This is called an estuary, where freshwater and saltwater mix!
The small stream under the railroad bridge is where this mixing happens.
During “High Tide” like today, the saltwater flows back into the lake, and then back into the bay during low tide.
The somewhat salty water is called brackish water.
We were surprised to see several wake boards, and larger boats out today.
That’s when Silvertop spotted this large boat passing by……….
We were trying to figure out if this was a fishing boat……
If you look very closely you can see what looks like a red Canadian maple leaf!🍁

By now we were both pelted by the horizontal rain, it was time to head back to shelter!😅
They say next week will be Sunny and in the 60’s ……..Silvertop is more than ready!😎
