Goodbye Again....😢....... NW Cascade Wanderings

Goodbye again……I’m sorry to be leaving you…..(an old John Denver song) but appropriate for today. Phoenix is gone-returned home with Bill. We were sad to see her go as she had become our doggie in the three weeks she spent with us.

It’s always hard to say goodbye after we’ve kept her. Bill visited with us for a while before heading back home. I told @silvertop I needed a coffee date to help dissipate the doggie blues, so we headed to Starbucks. After getting our coffees, we set out for Riverside Park to go walk the river for a while. The river has lots of cottonwoods on the shores which are beginning to lose their leaves for the fall season.

Some are like little boats floating downstream.

Some get stuck along the shoreline.

Some hang out in eddies….

….and some are left behind as the water recedes.

Some never land in the water at all.

The weather was mixed today with showers and sun.

Coffee for two!

Interesting rock nestled within.

As you take the trail to the river, there is a cornfield along part of it. We grow things big here in the Northwest, especially corn!!🌽

This stuff is a good 8-9’ tall! It’s pretty amazing when you stop to think we’ve not had rain this summer and nobody waters this stuff!

It was sad coming home realizing Phoenix wasn’t eagerly awaiting our arrival in her frenzied welcome and doggie kisses! It almost made me cry. 😢

That’s it for today. Tomorrow after church, it’s rumored that @actifit-lamb is headed to a pumpkin patch!🎃 If things work out, she will want me to share her photo shoot of the adventure! 🐑
