We awoke to the rain coming down and the wind howling! We lost power last night but have no idea what caused that as it wasn’t storming then. We hurriedly got showers as this area is notorious for losing the electricity in a wind storm. @silvertop prefers to hook up the generator AFTER a shower-not before! Ironically, unless the power went out while we were gone today, I don’t believe we lost it. The utility company usually texts me when we lose it. 😏
We decided to head to Bellingham Bay. Oftentimes, even though the weather might be nuts at our house, it’s not so much there. Today proved to be exactly that scenario.
That beautiful oak tree in my first picture is a fairly good size and decked out appropriately for fall!
The tide was super high today; higher yet than we’ve ever seen on our trips there. Near the Woods Coffeehouse, there are some old concrete stairs that lead directly into the bay. I’ve stood 5-6 steps down before, taking pictures from that vantage point. Not so today! As a matter of fact, I was getting splashed with saltwater as the waves were also the biggest we’ve seen there!
I wondered towards the boardwalk where the saltwater was about 6’ or so from the bottom of the concrete path. Usually it’s not even under it in places!
There’s a trail down to a beach where the boardwalk starts. I headed that direction for a closeup look of the waves heading towards land. I have a video with some awesome sound but can’t share it until things are fixed with 3Speak.
I found @silvertop on the boardwalk while I was on the beach.
A small sand castle in the sand someone built. I guess the most was an effort to keep the sea at bay, although I honestly don’t know if it ever gets that high.
Seems to me this guy might be a bit foolish! I’d not get in a boat on a day like today!
Sunset on the way home. It was a nice day despite the stormy weather. 😎
That’s it for today. Tomorrow I’ll be able to attend ladies Bible study for the first time in over 2 weeks. I’m looking forward to it.
Take care and enjoy the rest of your day! 🙏🌎🙏

O LORD, be gracious to us; we wait for you.
Be our arm every morning,
our salvation in the time of trouble.
