To Any Copywriter, Never Write A Copy Until You Read This

I have met a number of copywriters over the past few months...
Some are very good, some are beginners, some....
Not even good at all 🙂
Sometimes, I just feel like erasing that tag from their name 😃
Copywriting is a type of persuasive writing...
Yet many people think copywriting is just ALL about having conversations...
Well, yes...
I am having a conversation with you now, but it is beyond just conversations...
If not, every writer should be a copywriter, right?
Or better put,
If not, every speaker will be a copywriter, right?
Not exactly...
Copywriting is an engraved art and science of human emotions and psychology spelled through words spoken or written (© Ortega Ogomigo).
I understand I may have once told you in a seminar that if you could have conversation, then you could be a good copywriter. But you see...
It is beyond that...
It is all about human emotions, psychology, human nature....
Understanding this will help you structure your words and make them trigger the appropriate emotion in your prospects.
For example,
Look at these words...
#1: REPAIR
#2: FIX
Yeah, I know you are thinking...
"Mmmm... Aren't they the same?"
You aren't wrong...
But they have different emotional triggers in you.
The word "repair" looks "formal and passive"
While...
The word "Fix" is direct, sharp, stronger and create more emphasis.
Think about it for a second...
"Repair or Fix?"
One of the copywriting legends ran an ad with both words to split-test.
The word "Fix" used instead of "Repair" increased his sales to 20% extra.
Yeah... 20% extra... Other words in the headline weren't changed aside from those highlighted words.
That is how it is...
And this is why, we don't sound too professional by using humongous grammars...
We sound so friendly and use colloquial expressions that you can easily relate to...
And this helps in triggering your emotions..
So...
Again, I say never write a copy until you understand human emotions...
