Glad to see new people witnessing on the chain. Diversity gives more options to choose from. I'm not a developer but maybe I'll learn what it takes to get started and I've also started a witness on Blurt.

Do proposal votes really affect witness votes? It's not supposed to work that way. If it does, we need to fix it in the next hardfork.
I just went over the code. Witness votes and proposal votes are kept separate in the database. One shouldn't affect the other.
I tried with and without, different ways ...it was very clear it affected the votes
