Basically, Indonesia is one of the countries in the world where natural disasters often occur. This is because Indonesia's geographical location is between two continents, so that tropical storms pass through, making Indonesia vulnerable to disasters. One of the natural disasters that often occur in Indonesia, especially Buleleng Regency, Bali Province is landslides. The existence of development so far rarely pays attention to sustainable development, so that it can indirectly damage the existing natural potential.

Talking about sustainable development, of course there are elements that seek an arrangement and direction for various activities with the aim of maintaining environmental balance. This is the main priority of a sustainable development. The various efforts made must also obtain a direction and approval from the central implementing agency. One of these efforts is to carry out a natural disaster mitigation.
As one of the most disaster-prone countries, Indonesia has an interest in advancing the issue of disaster risk management and reduction, both at the global and national levels. Furthermore, considering Indonesia's experience in dealing with large-scale disasters, the international community also hopes that Indonesia can continue to contribute to efforts to advance disaster risk management and reduction at the global level.
In the national context, Indonesia continues to push for a paradigm shift in handling disaster issues from responsive to preventive and emphasizes the importance of linkage between disaster risk management and reduction with the sustainable development agenda.
Efforts to overcome natural disasters are to identify areas prone to natural disasters by mapping disaster-prone areas and disaster risks. The basic principles of mapping areas prone to natural disasters include:

- Determine the zone and level of disaster hazard.
