So what do you all reckon to this new alert for natural disaster… the Uk rly has no natural disasters whatsoever. It’s clearly a chess move but where is it going? when the app goes off it renders your phone unusable till you click you hAve read it.

To in the future slowly phase out bank cards and move payment tk the phone only then we can’t use our money to pay for things until the we activate our phone and accept conditions.

I think number 1 here is the most likely motive. I don't think most politicians in the UK can look forward enough to think about number two, although there are some wigs who squat number two all day LOL.^^
We had a cell phone alert system implemented in South Korea during covid. It is optional and as time went we got too many messages. There was an option to opt out or to turn off notifications. It looks like what the UK is doing is a little different.
There is a way to turn it off in settings I kind of what to see what they do first tho

We don’t have any natural disasters here at all I bet no one has ever died in the Uk in a wild fire and maybe one in a flood ever
We need to stop using smart phones. And all smart devices. And doctors. And banks. And pharmaceuticals.
I think if I didn’t use my smart phone I wouldn’t sell anything unless everyone stopped and we went back to perosnal websites and in person things which I genuinely wouldn’t mind
I've been trying to stop using my cell phone, and it is hard, but only because others are so dependent on them. If someone wanted something of yours, they would switch up how they ordered it. Maybe offer a small discount for folks who use email? We must stop being enslaved to our phones, imo.
I feel in this society social media is prob easiest way to promote and sell if your self employed but I think if everyone stopped I would be happy rly
Not really they wouldn’t as we are just in a differnt system now and the old methods do t rly work. Most ppl now see something online or on social or on a selling platform and buy it. Personal websites are not rly very successful anymore unless you are huge and even then these brands still use social look at huge brands like rare beauty or that Kylie Jenner etc they still monetise their social media platforms. You can possibly get somewhere with a huge mailing list and sending out engaging posts every week but I find that worse than sharing on social media tbh

In the Netherlands every first Monday of the month they used to test all air raid alarms at 12:00 during the day . 5 minutes long making this terrible sound .
Some years back they replaced it by a SMS message system , so now everyone gets a ALARM test message on there phone at this time on the first Monday .
Some year later they decided to start testing the first Monday air raid alarms again . For the message service was considered not enough .
It's very annoying and no way to shut it of , message or sound , but at least we know when it is the first Monday of the month again .
Reasons why ? ,.. freaking mind control if you ask me .
