In my last article, I shared our time spent at Peradeniya Botanical Garden. After having a good time at the garden we left for Kandy. On the way, we stopped by a restaurant to grab lunch.
As we wanted more petrol we stopped by a petrol shed. Queues were a bit longer in sheds near Kandy so we had to wait about 15min in the queue. Within a few minutes, we were able to reach the center of Kandy.
We followed google maps to reach our hotel, the hotel traveler's nest. We spent some time there while taking a rest and around 5 pm we dressed up to go to Dalanda Maligawa (the Temple of Tooth Relic)
There was a slight rain flowing so we went by car. Thankfully we received a parking slot for an unlimited time. Going under an umbrella while protecting white clothes wasn't easy.
When I visit to Kandy, I loved to watch ducks sitting on Kandy Lake banks. The rain made an awesome picture there.
As it was the day after Vesak payday, there was a huge crowd. So we had to wait in a queue to worship the tooth relic. We got wet a little too. Once all the religious activities we came down. It was already dark so the lights were on. The yellow lights on off-white walls made a perfect look.
When entering the temple we suppose to off our slippers. As it was raining we didn't wait to hand over the slippers to the shoe keeper's stall. We just kept it aside as all others did. We went to the place and checked for our slippers but couldn't find them anywhere. We spent about 15min rechecking them but finally concluded they were stolen. So we walked to town barefoot!
We were able to find an open shoe shop luckily. Once the slippers are back on, we walked to Bogambara grounds while enjoying all the Vesak decorations and lights. There was a Bakthi Geetha event at Bogambara grounds and we listen to just one song there. Then we walked to Kandy City Center to grab dinner.
We walked here and there in the mall to check what was there. Then we went to the restaurant area and ordered food. I ordered from Italian Resturent and Harith ordered from Chinese Resturent. We had a mojito as well.
After having a good meal we started walking back to the car park. We passed the Kandy Lake again and I loved the lights and breeze.
After a long day we finally arrived back to the hotel to have a good sleep.
I find it incredible that the slippers were stolen from a temple😱. Definitely, there is everything in the Lord's vineyard.
Pasta, although not as healthy as I thought, is one of my favorite dishes.
Yes. We never thought they were stolen by someone in a temple. Anyway That was a new experience to us and we never keep our slippers without safety again😅
I hope not, because I imagine that was a rather unpleasant experience, despite the fact that walking barefoot for a long time helps your health in some way... or at least, it's one of the things I've read lately.
You're true. It was an unpleasant experience to walk over the city to find for new slippers.
What a day indeed! It is nice to go to places with your loved one! Keep enjoying each other's company.♥️
