I really felt the need to get out and do nerve-racking things. So I contacted one of my hikemates to check if she haven't got any appointment that day. I know she would emmediatley jump off without a second though.She was quick to gave invitation to our circle of friends and luckily they were also available since it was weekend and everyone was excited. We decided to Hike in Baslay Peak in Dauin considering food and a good coffee after a sweaty hike is quite rewarding.

Basalay is a baranguay in the municipality of Dauin and is found about 11 km from the centre of Dauin. To get there you should take the mountain road from the southern end of the market in Dauin and take the left fork whenever the road split into 2 option.

After about 11km from the market you will reach the sign for the Highland Brew Coffee plantation. If you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle you can get to within 100m of the plantation, otherwise you will have to walk the last 500m up to it! I can't drive any farther from this point up.

Baslay Highland Brew Coffee. Are you a coffee lover?I highly recommend this, they have the best coffee and great cafe ambiance, friendly crew,fresh air, not crowded,and overlooking.

Bambo Fortress
When reaching the main gate, first thing you'll notice is the gigantic three story bambo fortress . There you can purchase some drinks and local cakes.

Coffee Beans Raised Beds
You now have an idea how fresh their coffee is. Baslay Highland have their own coffee farm.100% organic,roasted and brewed on site. I also grew up with coffee,my family had 2 hectars of that trees and one of the excitements to look forward to about coffee is the blooming season.Coffee blossoms scent is like jasmine smell but theres nothing like experiencing it in actual.Something I can't keep myself from picking its twigs with bunch of flower on it when I was a child. I was so excited to smell it again upon seeing coffee farm along the trail.See the path behind? it's where the trail is heading.

We made it to cliff with all its panoramic view facing the west. Just majestically beautiful.My knees were shaking I can't even stand straight,fear of heights is one thing I like to overcome.

My team were a bunch of rubbish 😆 I was pressured to stand alone on the cliff,the height,oh my! there's no way to survive in case of falling or that rock would timely crush. With my weak knees I proudly say " I made it." That was my first experienced. Hold on, we are not at the top yet.

All the Fear has gone!
You never know the brave in you until you face your greatest fear.
Most importantly, a great camaraderie! The experienced and the care we have for each other is priceless.After enjoying the dramatic scenic background, we then headed back down to the coffee shop.

This bamboo fortress also serve as lookout or simply if you love to meditate it's perfect too! I also recommend this place whenever a friend or anyone would crave for best coffee. We had the best hike experienced and we been here many times already.
