Overcoming Overwhelm is a big problem, especially if you have been dealing with it for some time now. So what does it mean when I say "I am overwhelmed?"
First, let me tell you what I mean by "overwhelmed." I would be overwhelmed if I had to do a task that seemed too overwhelming for me. That would indicate that the task itself was overbearing.
For instance, I recently had to write an article for my blog, and I started to get anxious because I did not know if it would be a hard or difficult task. As a matter of fact, I worried that I would not have enough content to make it worth my time. I then went into panic mode and felt as though I was unable to do the task at hand.
If I were to compare the feeling of being overwhelmed to an easy task that could be done in a few minutes, I would not consider it an easy task. Now I know that I can do that task easily, but I still cannot do it. The feelings of anxiety and panic were the same as being overwhelmed. This makes me think that I am not getting myself overwhelmed anymore.
The second thing I meant by being overwhelmed is that I have been taking on too many difficult tasks at once. Instead of focusing on one thing at a time, I have been taking on too many tasks at the same time. Sometimes I can take one task and complete it, but I might have another task that I need to finish before I can complete the first task.
To sum it up, overcoming overwhelming means that I need to cut down on the number of things I am doing at the same time. Now if I were to do only one thing each day, then that would give me more time to focus on one thing and achieve my goal.
