The chart above shows a comparison of the prices of Steem (blue line) and Hive (orange line) from mid-June to today. You can see that the prices of the two brothers' coins always go up and down together, with Steem's price always on top.

However, twice the price of Hive has succeeded or almost succeeded in overtaking Steem. That is, the first was around June 19-20, and the second was two days ago. But a short time later, Steem took the lead again.

What are the factors that make Hive's price so energetic in pursuing Steem? One possibility is the HBD Stablecoin, which was officially launched since the last Hive hard fork.

Recently, the price of HBD has also become bullish following Bitcoin. Therefore, Hive users gather to sell HBD, buy HIVE, and then burn it in the blockchain in exchange for HBD again and so on.

This puts selling pressure on the HBD side and drives the price back to $1. On the other hand, it puts buying pressure on the HIVE side, causing the price to rise. However, this is just one of many other theories.

Meanwhile, the middle chart shows the price performance of Steem in terms of various indicators. At first, the Steem alligator appears to be clenching its jaw. This is a sign that it will soon go to sleep.

Then, the Steem oscillator MACD is in a bearish position, meaning that the price of this asset tends to fall. On the other hand, however, the Stoch RSI oscillator is almost into the oversold territory. This means that the price of this asset is already below its fair value. So, investors are expected to be interested in buying at the bottom.

And the chart below shows the price change of Hive. You can see that the Hive alligator is opening its mouth wide and upward. This indicates that it is continuing to go up searching for prey.

The MACD Hive oscillator then begins to weaken, but still appears to be in a bullish position. In other words, prices are still rising, but are beginning to slow down. Meanwhile, the Stoch RSI oscillator has moved from overbought territory to neutral territory. This indicates that asset prices are still higher than normal, but are starting to come close.

Looking at some of the indicators above, we can presume that the price of Hive has the power to overtake Steem soon. Is it true?

Let's continue to monitor the movements of these two sister coins.

I see a lot of Hive whales back on Steemit these days and I think Justin Sun owns a lot of Hive too. Maybe they are friends again ?
