One was named "Sampson". The ship was only seven miles away. They saw the Titanic's distress signal, but they were fishing for illegal seals. Lest they get caught, they turn the ship upside down and go far away.
Think of this ship. You will see that it is similar to many of us. We who think only of ourselves. We don't have a single headache about what other's life has come or gone. They were on that ship.
The second ship is named "Californian". It was only fourteen miles away from the Titanic at the time. There was ice around the ship. The captain saw the Titanic's desperate desire to survive. But the conditions were not favorable and there was thick darkness around so he decided to go to sleep. Will see if anything can be done in the morning. All the other crew of the ship reassured themselves that it was not that serious.
This ship also speaks to many of our hearts. For those of us who feel after an event, that there is nothing we can do at that very moment. If the situation is favorable, I will jump.
The last ship was named "Carpathians". This ship was actually going in the opposite direction. They were about fifty-eight miles away when they heard the screams of the Titanic's passengers on the radio.
The ship's captain knelt down on the deck. Praying to God to show them the right path. Then he broke through the ice at full strength and proceeded towards the Titanic.
Seven hundred and five passengers of Titanic survived because of this decision of this ship.
It is good to remember that you will have a thousand reasons to avoid responsibility, but those who will make a permanent place in the minds of people are those who will jump without a second thought when others are in danger. History may not remember them but they will be captured in "folktales" sung by people for ages.
There is a lot to learn in this post.
