বড় হয়েও তার ব্যাতিক্রম নয় আমি। মাধ্যমিক স্কুলে থাকাকালীন আমি ক্রিকেট খেলায় আমার নাম দিতাম। আমি ভালো খেলায়োর ছিলাম। খোদ উপজেলা কর্মীরা আমার প্রশংসা করেছিল আমার স্কুল প্রাঙ্গণে। আমার দল উপজেলা ভিত্তিক ক্রিকেট খেলাতে ফাইনালে হেরে গিয়ে রানার্স-আপ হয়। আনাদের সাথে চিটিং করা হয় নয়তো আমরাই ট্রফিটা পেতাম।

কিন্তু আমাদের দেশের জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের কি অবস্থা। বর্তমানের জাতীয় দল দিয়ে টি টুয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ বা ওয়ানডে বিশ্বকাপের ফাইনাল তো দূরেই থাক কোয়াটার ফাইনালেই উঠতে পারেনা। এটা খুবই দুঃখ জনক। যে মাসে মাসে এত টাকা বেতন দিয়ে এসব ক্রিকেট খেলোয়ার রেখে কোনোই লাভ নাই। কোনোই কাজ নেই দেশিয় উন্নয়নে, দেশের অগ্রযাত্রায়। বাংলাদেশে বর্তমানে চলমান এশিয়া টি-টুয়ান্টি বিশ্বকাপ চলছে। আফগানিস্তানের সাথে হেরে আজ দ্বিতীয়বারের মতো শ্রীলংকার সাথে খেলছে। শ্রীলংকাকে অগ্রিম অভিনন্দন।
