Former India opener Virender Sehwag thinks the 400-run target against India in the Tests will not be enough. He thinks the Indian team currently has two explosive batsmen in front of whom 400 runs is not enough. Sehwag claims that India will rule Test cricket with their hands.
On Sports 18's 'Home of Heroes', Sehwag praised the two batsmen, Rishabh Pant and Prithviraj Shaw. He claimed that India would win the Test championship with the help of two youngsters. Shaw and Pant could help the Indian team to reign supreme in Test cricket and win the World Test Championship.
Rishabh and Prithvi both proved their worth in their debuts in Test cricket. The two had a great start to their Test careers. But since then, the two have lost ground in their international careers. Pant came back with proof of his ability. His place in the Test team is now fairly mature. Prithviraj Shaw is now out of the Test squad but is still struggling to make a comeback in the domestic tournament.

Prithvi, who made his debut in 2016, has played only 5 Tests in 4 long years. But the debut match was not great for this right-handed batsman. He made his debut as the best batsman of the match by scoring 134 runs in the first innings against West Indies in Rajkot. He also scored a half century in the next match. Even then he could not prove himself that way. He has scored 339 runs in 9 innings in 5 matches, including the last Test played in 2020, with one century and two fifties. At a strike rate of 6.04, the batting average is eye-catching at 42.36.
But Sehwag is optimistic about Prithviraj Shaw, saying, "He (Prithviraj Shaw) is a player who can bring back the excitement in Test cricket."

Rishabh Pant is dangerous in the longest version of cricket. The young wicketkeeper-batsman made his international debut against England at just 19 years old. He has seen ups and downs in a short period of his career. He made his dream debut in red ball cricket. Pant was called up for the tour of England in 2016. Rishabh gets a chance to replace Dinesh Karthik. But even though he could not do anything, he did not take much time to show his talent.
The batsman made his mark in the third Test of his career against England. He then played two innings of 92 runs in two consecutive matches against West Indies. In the next series, he scored a century in the tour of Australia. After that the picture changes. Towards the end of 2019, Pant's batting edge decreased. At the beginning of his career, Dhoni lost his place in the XI. Later, at the end of 2020, the team got another chance to change itself with hard work and concentration. After that, this left-arm batsman did not have to look back. In 30 Tests for India, Pant scored 1920 runs at an average of 40.75 with four centuries and nine fifties.

Vikram Rathore, the batting coach of the Indian team, also praised Pant, saying, "Suddenly, Rishabh seems to have become. He (Rishabh) knows he is one of the most important cricketers in the Indian team. ' He has scored 615 runs in 24 ODIs at an average of 32.50. He has scored 85 runs in 43 matches with a strike rate of 125.6 in T20.
Sehwag hopes that Pant will play better in limited overs if he changes his batting position. You have to go down to four or five and fulfill your responsibilities according to the situation. If he (Pant) can play in the opening, he will be more successful. '
