Bangladesh's Asia Cup hockey campaign started with a loss. South Korea defeated Bangladesh 6-1 in the first match today in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Korea ranks 16th in the world rankings, Bangladesh 30th. Bangladesh have lost their last four matches against defending champions Korea. Presumably, Russell Mahmud Jimira still lost today. But it was time to see how big the rate was.
Last year, Bangladesh lost 3-2 in the Champions Trophy Hockey in Dhaka. But this time he could not compete at all. But in the 6th minute of the match, Bangladesh got the first goal with the goal from Khorshedur Rahman's penalty corner. But Korea, the four-time champions of the Asia Cup, did not wait long to repay that goal.
In the 13th minute, Tayil Hawang equalized for Korea with a goal from a penalty corner. After that, as time went on, Bangladesh became more and more cornered by the Korean attack. South Korea got 10 penalty corners in the whole match. He has scored goals from 4 of them. In contrast, Bangladesh got only 2 penalty corners.

Bangladesh coach Iman Gobinathan Krishnamurthy is disappointed to lose by such a big margin. At the end of the match, he said that Korea is one of the strongest teams in this Asia Cup. It was really hard to play with them. The boys made some ridiculous mistakes. Hope to play better in the next match.
Bangladesh's next match in Asia Cup is tomorrow, against Oman.
