Quetta Gladiators won the toss and elected to bowl first but failed to restrict Islamabad United, who ended up setting a target of 200 runs to win the game in the second innings despite facing hurdles with their middle batting order and being stranded at 109 runs for 6.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz made 19 runs off 13 balls, while Alex Hales did the real damage with 62 runs off 38 balls. However, the team faced a little bit of a hurdle as the middle batting order failed to perform against Shahid Afridi, who played a three-wicket over.

The Islamabad United made things worse for themselves with self-inflicted calamities in shape of run-outs, However, Faheem Ashraf managed to put Islamabad United back into the game with 55 runs off 13 balls alongside Liam Dawson and Hasan Ali, who also managed 13 and 12 runs, respectively.

Despite the high score, Quetta Gladiators played brilliantly in the second innings with Jason Roy and Ahsan Ali giving the team a wonderful start by scoring 54 and 30 runs off 27 and 23 balls, respectively. James Vince also managed 29 runs off 22 balls alongside Sarfaraz Ahmed, who scored 50 off just 32 balls.

However, Iftikhar Ahmed was dismissed early after scoring only 4 runs, but Umar Akmal managed to guide the team to victory by scoring 23 runs off 8 balls.

Quetta Gladiators won by 5 wickets with 2 balls remaining.
