The first innings started with Babar Azam being dismissed too early and Sharjeel Khan only managing 36 runs off 34 balls. The pressure fell to Joe Clarke and he was able to score 40 runs off 29 balls, while the middle batting order failed to perform against bowling from Karachi Kings.

However, Chris Jordan managed to score 32 runs off 16 balls towards the end of the innings and allowed the Karachi Kings to set a target of 175 runs for the Multan Sultans.

Multan Sultans had a great start with the partnership between Shan Masood and Mohammad Rizwan, who scored 45 and 76 runs off 41 and 56 balls, respectively. However, Tim David only managed a score of 13 from 7 balls, but Rilee Rossouw managed 14 runs off 5 balls and Khushdil Shah scored much needed 21 runs off 9 balls, taking the team to victory.
