You're guessing it right. They just want people to buy more. Because while looking for something we already knew where it is, we may time something else with us. I don't know if you ever visited IKEA, but those guys are even more crazy than that. They have one entry and only one exit, and you will have to pass all the shop and it's so huge, to exist. It's like a maze where you will have to find the exit, or you're lost there buying everything. lol
