We took a picture together before going to the chapel/church to worship on Ash Wednesday.
This is on our way to our chapel/church having fun taking a picture. 🥰
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a period of reflection and spiritual preparation leading up to Easter Sunday. On this solemn day, Christians around the world receive ashes on their foreheads, a symbol of mortality and repentance. As they do so, they are reminded of their own mortality and the need for repentance, as the minister or priest says, "Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return." It is a time for introspection, fasting, and prayer, as believers seek to renew their relationship with God and strive for spiritual growth. Ash Wednesday serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of humility, forgiveness, and the journey towards redemption.
The layminister's rubbing of ash on our foreheads proves that we are dust, and to dust we shall return.
And we felt thankful and blessed of what we received.
