Travnička Tvrđava or Travnik fortress, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Hello everyone.
Couple weeks back we decided to visit Travnik for a weekend. It is city in central Bosnia and Herzegovina, about 90 kilometers from capital city Sarajevo.
We spent some time in the city and visited Travnička Tvrđava or Travnik fortress.
It is also called Stari grad or Old town.
Travnik fortress is one 818 National monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Many historians agree that it was built in second half of 14th century or first half of 15th century.
From 1699 to 1851 Travnik was capital of Bosnia.
From fortress you can see city Travnik and in the back of the fortress are mountains.
Beautiful place.

During my last visit it was summer so there was no water and it was nice surprise to see water running under the bridge.

This tower is in the middle of the frotress.
Inside there is museum with historical information and traditional tools and clothes exhibits.

This place is used for some events and manifestations.

Sundials.
In Travnik there are three sundials. Here you can see two ( third is on the Hadži Ali-Begova džamija (Hadži Ali Bey Mosque). One is the one that was used in Ottoman period and other is modern sundial.
These two sundials were installed in 2023.
There was no sun at that moment ( it was cloudy) to see shadows and how they work.

These stairs are steep. You have to be careful when going down.

Travnik is beautiful city and Travnik fortress is nice place to visit.
