My mum and I usually have morning prayers together on some days of the week. Monday happens to be one of them. I was observing my quiet time when I heard the sound of the bell from across the living room. I quickly concluded my quiet time, changed into another dress, and went downstairs to join Mum in the living room. when I got downstairs, Mum and I exchanged greetings and she asked me to set the table for prayer what we call our family altar.

As we were about to commence the opening prayer, I remembered we had guests so, I went to the visitor's room to knock on the door. I knocked severally before the door was opened. I greeted Beatrice, the mother of the kids, and asked her to wake the kids up so that they could join us in the morning prayer. They joined us a few minutes later and we started the prayer. The prayer session was longer than usual on that day, courtesy of my mum.

After the prayers, I gave Beatrice and Violet another set of dresses from the ones I had picked for them from the mall on our way back home the previous day and asked them to freshen up and thereafter, come to the table for breakfast. I also asked Victor to follow me to my room where I left him to also have his bath and change into the pair of trousers and the T-shirt that I gave him. They were all pleased with the new wears I gave them. Mother and daughter went back to their room and Victor followed me upstairs.

Breakfast was already served before they returned to the dinner table, We all said the grace and had our breakfast of egg sauce and fried yam. During breakfast, Violet asked if she could get more and her mum quickly shut her up, I told the mum it was fine and I served the young girl and others more slices of yam and egg sauce. Mum made sure she prepared extra food that day So, It wasn't a problem serving everyone extra.

After breakfast, I put a call through to the lawyer to inform him that were leaving for the house in Magodo and he promised to join us. It was like a road trip for the children, they asked questions now and then and I made sure I provided answers to all their questions as I drove. I got them snacks on the way too. We reached Magodo around 9 a.m. The road was free from Traffic Jams that morning, unlike the previous time I visited there. I opened the door and had them settle in the sitting room as we waited for Barr. Adeoti.

Shortly after our arrival, Barrister Adeoti arrived with Dr Richard arrived. We exchange pleasantry and move ahead to the reason for the gathering. I introduced the mother and her kids to both the lawyer and the Doctor. I gave them the pictures Sir Jones attached to the letter to confirm the faces even though that wasn't necessary. The kids look so much like their father, especially Violet.

The lawyer brought Sir Jones's will and read it to us. He also showed us a video clip where Sir Jones read his will before he died. The atmosphere got tense and filled with sadness when we were watching the video. The kids and their mother burst into tears. It took me and the men in the room almost 30 minutes before we could help them stop the tears.

In the will, Sir Jones stated that his house in Lekki and a sum of Ten million Naira be given to his doctor and his real estate company and all the properties under it be given to Dennis while his fuel stations, hotels, Landed properties, all cars and his other two mansions in Magodo and Lekki with the sum of Four hundred million Naira in his domiciliary account and Seven hundred million dollars in his Foreign account be transferred to his family. He also gave his lawyer a sum of Seventeen million naira in his UBA account.

The lawyer already had the documents for the transfer of ownership of all the properties listed under each name prepared and signed by Sir Jones. It was attached to the Will. When the lawyer requested the documents of all the properties so that each recipient could have theirs and sign their part on the papers for transfer of ownership, I remembered it was stated in the letter. Immediately, I went upstairs to the master's bedroom to get the safe.

I brought the safe and asked the female child to punch her name on the safe. She did severally but it didn't open. Then I asked if she had another name, and her mother replied "Yes, her real name is Ndidiamaka" We were all surprised to see the shock on the girl's face, how can someone not know her own name? She gathered up herself and wrote the name on the keyboard on the safe and it opened. The lawyer brought out the document and gave each person one that belong to them after signing their part on the papers .

When he was about to leave, he promised to be back in a week to guide the family and acquaint them with all their properties, and also help them gain access to Sir Jones's account so that they could finalize the instructions of the will. I told him Dennis would be hanged the next day and I would like for him to see Sir Jones's family before death so that he can be aware that I fulfilled his last wish. That can't be possible without a legal practitioner, I pleaded with him to follow us. He agreed to go with us the next day. The doctor also said he would like to join us and they both left the house.

Sir Jones already stated in the will that from the day the will be read, his family should start living in his mansion in Magodo where he left many memories of himself for them to hold onto.
The mother and the children were very happy. They all knelt to thank God and sing praises to him. Our days of suffering are over, Violet shouted. They all thanked me for making it happen and also begged me not to be far from them because they needed my help settling in. I stayed with the family till the evening before I drove back to my house. I was very happy about the good job I did.

Let's see what happened to Dennis and his portion of Sir Jones ' properties. Maybe what we all expected didn't happen.........Thanks for visiting my blog.

Watch out for the last episode 👌
