TIME TO SHARE MORE OF MY PHOTOGRAHY & A FEW WORDS!

IMG_7572-Hive.JPG

I greatly appreciate all the kind words from my first post in a couple of years. It was definitely encouraging, and a reminder why I felt from the beginning that Blurt was a good place to be, and had a lot of potential.

It also reminded me that Blurt, like the other two platforms, in part, is a social media site. Too often we get caught up in how much we are earning. I know I have. Seeing that Blurt is a social media site I have learned that engaging other users through our publications, in time will lead to an increase of earnings. The interactions through comments and replies is the social aspect of the Blurt platform. We cannot ignore this aspect of what we are doing here.

I know I do not always leave a comment on posts (but I do not do much of the curating), and in part these past two years have left me tired and there were times my brain was "foggy". So I ended up just voting on publications for the most part. Yet I know these comments are important to all users, but especially the newcomers or those struggling to find themselves on Blurt. They can find encouragement not only in the "up-votes" we give, but in the words we share. Even those of us who have been active for awhile find encouragement in a comment.

I tend to ramble on when I am writing posts. I blame it on the close to 50 years in social services, with around 35 years as a counselor. Then I walked away from that, and took over the in-home care business from my wife. The two ladies I care for are low functioning and both have selective mutism. Not very good conversationalist. So Blurt is my outlet in communicating with other beings. Maybe I share my photography just so I can ramble on about them, and other thoughts that come to mind as I write.

Maybe it is time to share some photos. I am limited in my photo selection because I have not been taking photos for two years. I am now starting back, and I still have some that I may not have used on any of these platforms. Rose photos are especially in short supply. I used to take a trip to a botanical garden not from my home with my daughter. They have a huge rose garden. We have not gone for these past two years, but are making initial plans to go this summer. I like to accumulate as many photos as I can, so I have enough for the winter months.

TIME TO SHARE MORE OF MY PHOTOGRAHY & A FEW WORDS!/¡ES HORA DE COMPARTIR MÁS DE MIS FOTOGRAFÍAS Y ALGUNAS PALABRAS!

Photographs/Fotografías

I hope you enjoy the above flower. I personally love the coloring. I love macro-photography. I think this is an Osteospermum, like a yellow one I shared last post. I am growing this one in a growbag in my elevated grow-bed.

This next flower, which happens to be red, looks a lot like a petunia but much smaller. My macro-lens sure makes it look a lot more like a petunia. I bought some flowers this year because I did not have the time to seed annuals. This one was mixed in a pot with petunia plants.

In the same container as the above red flower I do have a petunia plant growing. I am inserting a photograph of one of its blooms.

IMG_7537-hive.JPG

I have quite a few Hen's-n-Chicks that keep growing anywhere they please. Here is one that is growing in the center of a piece of wood I am using for a border between my sidewalk and perennial flower bed.

In contrast here is a photo of my main planting of Hen's-n-Chicks. It is planted in an old galvanized bucket I found in the forest.

IMG_7597-Hive.JPG

In the past I have grown a very large garden. I grow vegetables in a greenhouse starting in late winter, and for the cold months I have a room indoors with artificial lighting where I grow a few vegetables in growbags and in hydroponic units. I also grow a lot of microgreens. I began experimenting with container gardening to show people you do not need a lot of space to have a garden. Currently I do not have the time to deal with keeping weeds out of a garden, so I am growing only in containers this year. The following is some Shallots (Yellow Dutch) that my dad gave me my first few in the early 1990's. I love these during the winter when you do not want to cut up a whole onion. They store well. These were still viable even though they should have been planted last summer. I have them in a large growbag set in a kiddie pool to hold water. The bag absorbs the water from the bottom, and I sometimes water from the top.

Sir your posts are always so motivating and refreshing. Trust me the amount of work you do in real life pushes me hard to move forward. Love the photographs sir, I had no idea about "Hen's-n-Chicks", I used to think they are wild flowers. Silly me...

blurt is an amazing platform and you are doing so much for the blurt... Thank you sir...

Thank you Priya. I am glad you enjoed the photos. In many ways Hen's-n-Chicks can be wildflowers. They tend to grow where they want to grow. It is amazing how they survive our cold winters.

I first saw them in Ukraine so I guess they can nicely survive in cold weather. They are really amazing and they have a unique life cycle...

How nice to see a new post from you, I am not a professional photographer, but I recently posted some flowers, thinking of being guided by you, not only in inspiration but in example, I see you and definitely think you must have a big heart, you help many, through your discord, healings and your personal account on all the social platforms you support.

I look forward to continue to share with you through Blurt, and learn from each of your posts, I hope God grant you life and health.

Thank you for the support, your work and effort is compensated every day, we all recognize your name and your stamp, it is not necessary to write words, and I understand that if it is something reserved, it should be respected, just understand.

Thank you. I am not a professional photographer either. I just keep taking pictures. Sometimes I have to take a few of the same thing with slightly different angles, and focus. Then I choose from the best I have.

And well the difference is definitely the camera I just use the camera on my phone I try to buy the one with better pixels to improve the image and that was in my budget, for always saving for something better.

Re the pictures normally edited ? Your camera is really powerful and it brings out true colors and they re a joy to see. I like the little R2C added to it at the bottom it makes it really unique. Does your camera record videos as well?

The only editing I do with my photos is to add my logo, and sometimes to center the flower/picture. I have played with editing in different ways and really did not see the value of doing it. It actually took away from my initial photo.

My Canon EOS Rebel T5 does take photos. I may have post a video or two over the years, but would rather take photographs and write about them and other things.

You have always been a good man from the beginning.

Yet I know these comments are important to all users, but especially the newcomers or those struggling to find themselves on Blurt. They can find encouragement not only in the "up-votes" we give, but in the words we share.

Talking about this you are very correct sir and speaking on my behalf, I just came on board here on blurt not up to a month now and the first role model I got moved by was @r2cornell you are already an encouragement to newbies I must say, your performances were so amazing and I really enjoy his work and sociality how you offer to support people in different aspects from post to comments, it is a top notch and I use this medium to say thank you and keep being a great man 🤝🙂.

By the way I love the flowers and you have such a wonderful camera.

I normally use a Canon EOS Rebel T5 for most photographs, except where noted. I do have an older PowerShot Canon digital camera that I use from time to time.

I didn't know some old model lenses could do such a wonderful photographing, I guess this shows how good your photographing skills are.😁

Thank you very much. I trust you continue to grow here on Blurt.

Yeah. I will certainly and keep doing my best
You're welcome too!

The flowers are so beautiful. The colours are unique you manage to catch something extraordinary. The rambling is just part of who you are, you don't need to be a shamed from this. What this three social platforms have in common is that everyone can speak their mind. In person you may be shy but your writing is your inner self. Thanks for sharing this amazing post.

On your photography I think you are also doing great. But you can try and take some new photos again..I am new cormer like you said. I have often commented on your post and even mentioned you but i often get no response..Was why dicouraged probably..But now i have an idea on your program and routine...My regards to your in-home clients..Just tell them a friend sent a Hi!

  ·  3 years ago  ·   (edited)

Thank you. Only the first photo is not a current photo. I have been taking photos regularly for a couple of weeks now.

I assume you are speaking of commenting on curation reports, because this is only the 2nd post I have done personally in the past 2 years. When someone comments on one of the curation reports I do my best to vote on the comment. There are 6 accounts across the three platforms that I read comments and vote on. I seldom reply to comments on those reports, and I have someone who writes those reports. I have not and still do not have the time to keep track of those who mention me in their own posts. Sometimes one of my team will send me a link (Private Message) if there is one that is exceptional, or the post has a large focus on me and/or curation project.

Please do not take it personally if I do not reply to comments from those curation reports, or if I do not see posts you did and that I am mentioned.

When I do these personal posts I try to reply to comments.

Thank you so much for this. Please still dont forget to say hi to those in your in-home care unit.

Your post is great! I hope that through your blog you can find a compensation, we all need feedback, to be heard and to listen to others, which is part of the nature of the human being as the image of God.

World famine is predicted in the scriptures, so it's a good idea to grow in small containers.

I live in an apartment and don't have the space to grow on a large plot, but I know there are some indoor growing techniques.
You say you grow vegetables in bags. sounds interesting.

God gives you strength, health and the power that is beyond normal to continue caring and making others happy. Stay cheerful. Happy and long life.

Thank you very much. Yes you can grow a lot in a small space. Grow bags or pots do well on balconies and even a sunny window. You should do some research on micro-greens. I learned a lot on google by watching those who are doing it large scale and those with limited space. I tend to grow them in the winter when I have more time. Some are ready to harvest in a 4 - 6 days.

Greetings dear friend, thanks for this wonderful answer, I have been away from the networks for some time doing volunteer work, providing support and spiritual comfort based on the Bible to those who live on the streets.

I myself is in forced muted situation, nothing around that I can converse with because my parents and I doesn't really talk that much, I am always alone in my room. All the social life that was left was through online platforms like these @r2cornell

Anyway those are very beautiful flowers👍and perfect for any garden and will surely beautify any home for sure. I would like them for my house if I ever get to own one 😁

Thank you. Online platforms like Blurt are an excellent outlet for maintaining socialization. Those with medical issue, as with the elderly (whatever elderly means) have an excellent outlet for socializing. These past 2 years, with Covid-19, many others have found out the benefit of these platforms. And if patient and persistent, a little extra income can come with it.

Great blog sir, when I started on blurt it was a bit difficult for me to carry out the project but coming in contact with you gave me a strong belief that that blurt worth spending time on.

Sir, your photographs on flower is good.

Thanks for sharing with us.

Wow sir, you have written to me the photography of your phone is very wonderful. You have shared the photography of the flower scene with us very beautifully. Thank you very much sir.

Thank you, but only a couple of photos are from my phones camera. My main camera is my Canon EOS Rebel T5. In the event a photograph does not specify which camera it is from it is probably from my Canon EOS Rebel T5. When I use my phone camera or other camera I always state that with the photo.

Regardless, I appreciate it that you like my photography.

Your words are heart touching and your images are eye catching. It's your second post I read found them really awesome. Looking for more blogs.

Thank you very much.

I already started the written portion of my next post. It is long due to writing about our Curation project(s), and a little of my plans. I already interpreted some into Spanish. I have also selected some photographs and placed them in a folder for quick access. I get interrupted frequently so it takes awhile to do one. By aiming for publications a week apart keep pressure off of me.

Also, I forgot how much I enjoyed doing them.

Wow, that's the first thing that I can say with these flower photography of yours sir. That's really beautiful. I love looking at each one of those.

I am hoping to publish weekly with more photographs along with my narrative.

It's regret that i couldn't read and see your past because i joined blockchain very late. But now i can realise that you're a highly skilled blogger who knows to use words and photos in their perfect places.

Posted from https://blurtlatam.com

I never saw my self with that much experience as a blogger, but I guess I have been at it longer than I I realized. But, starting on steemit in 2017 and have had a lot of practice. I try and focus on what others like, and then adjust accordingly. On steemit it took a long time to get noticed, but then I was able to carry that over to hive and then to Blurt.

Writing skills have not come naturally, but evolved with practice. I recall that in an English writing class a professor stress to not worry so much about mechanics, but instead to focus on writing so the reading understands what you are trying to say. The mechanics come later. I took that information into my career and wrote many reports every week. Lots of practice.

I think it works this way for those that English is not their first language. Some worry they are good writers because it is not their native language. But if they focus on conveying an idea to the reader they will grow in the process.

I'm hoping for your more posts in future.

I like the color of the first flower, it's beautiful, also the petunias, mine died, I have seeds but I can't get them to grow enough.
Your Hen's-n-Chicks look succulent plant, are they related to them?

Thank you. I have a few photos of the first flower. It sure is magnificent.

I have read that chicks-n-hens are succulent native to Europe and Africa. They are drought tolerant.

Considering your age and having the agility and passion in this endeavor is always an inspiration for youth like me. You are the one who I always find it easy to approach and if we can draw the best possible meaning of socializing, then practically I do that through your blog post. At times monetary benefits override the basic sense of socializing. But I have always believed socializing as the "means" and hence it has to be as important and as pure as the "end", i.e. social and monetary benefits.
