LET US TAKE A WALK THROUGH SOME FLOWER PHOTOS/DEMOS UN PASEO POR ALGUNAS FOTOS DE FLORES

I never know which photograph to use at the beginning of my post. They all have their own unique qualities. The photograph I chose for this post tends to energize me. I bought this plant for one of my flower beds. It is called Bidy Boom Wildfire (Bidens). That is what is on the tag. My macro-lens on my Canon is really able to bring it to a fuller view.

I normally have a lot to say when I begin a post, but today I am not finding the flow of words that are usually there for me. It is late in the day, and I am usually at my best in the morning. I typically begin my day between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. This gives me a few hours to myself before I get the rest of the household moving. I was up early this morning, but today was shower day for the ladies I care for, and it is a lot more work since the lady with cancer lost her eyesight. I started working early to get everything done, so did not spend much time on the computer. Maybe in the next day or so I will find that early morning energy and change all of what I wrote today. We shall see. I work on my publication a little at a time.

I am finding that I am spending a lot of time going through the photos I have taken. I delete the ones I do not like or just have not come out very well. I forgot how much I enjoy that process. I always amaze myself on how well some of the photographs come out. There is nothing like taking a macro-shot of a very tiny flower, which requires me to lay on the ground to get my shot, and then later to see how fantastic it came out. Some of the smallest flowers are so beautiful, yet many people miss them because of their size. There is one such flower in this publication that I will discuss later.

The response to my last post was not very strong. There was a lot of narrative, yet I felt the need to share those words. There are some that are not as clear on the Curation Project. One person did not seem to like that it was not a curation report, stating it was different. Well, yes, it was different as are all my personal posts. Different compared to a Curation Report. There will still be Curation Reports, but I will also do personal posts here on @r2cornell account. My only other choice would be to drop the curation aspect of @r2cornell and only do personal posts. That is something I do not want to do. I will work on keeping my writings shorter, yet if I feel it is important I will spend the extra time. But I will always have some photographs to share.

Those who have read my reports over the years are familiar with some of my wildlife photography. I have some trail cameras that I set up out in the forest to see what wildlife is in the area. Many of the photos are not very good, but there are a few worth saving. I am just starting to get to check on them and make sure they are working. I will be setting them up over the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned.

Permanezcan atentos.

On that thought let us begin our journey through a few photographs...

My next photograph has the same flower as the one above, along with one I have shared before. They look excellent growing together.

These next two photographs are interesting in that they are both related to violets. The first one is a "Pansy" and the second a Viola. These flowers have been self-seeding. I have other Viola photographs. I can never remember which shows up in containers or in a flowerbed, versus those that grow in large patches on my property. They seem to move around, but typically it is a nice size patch. The Pansy typically has a larger bloom.

My next flower is interesting in that it is a bloom on a Chinese cabbage that went to flower quicker than expected. I let it grow for the bees. I never cease to be amazed to see blossoms on vegetable plants. This one is so cheerful.

Earlier I alluded to taking macro photos of very small flowers, and how beautiful they can be. This next one is an example of this. I had to lay on the ground to get close enough to capture this beauty. It is a wildflower.

This brings us to the end of this publication. I trust you will find something in it that you enjoy.

I normally use a Canon EOS Rebel T5 for most photographs, except where noted. I do have an older PowerShot Canon digital camera that I use from time to time. I do take some photographs with my Samsung Note 9 smart phone and include them from time to time.

They really look nice, great shot too.
Thumbs up.

Thank you very much. I appreciate it.

All kinds of flowers grow in your garden, it must be an excellent climate where you live. I wanted some pansy flowers but they don't sell them here because they are supposed to be from cold or fresh climates and I live in a hot area.

The yellow flower closely resembles the mustard flower.

and the first and second photo are beautiful, I love their colors!

Thank you. Yes pansies are for cold climates. The plant can freeze for a few days, thaw out and continue where it left off. The yellow flower from a Chinese cabbage, may be in fact related to mustard. I have some mustard in bloom in my old vegetable garden. I should try and get some photos and see how close they are.

Is this a old logo or a new one for R2Cornell?

  ·  3 years ago  ·   (edited)

Someone made it for me a few years ago. I cannot recall who. I use it as my logo on my photographs. I also thought it would go well here to sign off on my personal posts.

This is the first time I saw this logo. I used to see another one continusly. Yes.. it's good to end your personal posts too.

Excellent photos, I have a question. Do you still manage time to take flower photos like you used to do before? Every photo has its own background story. When I see old photographs, it gives me joy and sometimes pain. I am using the word pain because whenever I see photos of Kharkiv that I have taken before gives me pain in my heart thinking about what sad and horrible things happening there.

Anyway, I hope you will continue your beautiful flower photography journey. I remember you used to do woodwork and gardening, so give us an update if possible...

I wish you a great day sir...

I am sure the photos from Kharkiv are difficult. Focus on the good times reflected there.

I am not gardening as much but I have started back with more photography. I was planning on staying with blogging and sharing although today I feel discouraged when I see that some Witnesses are raising fees. It may not hurt me but many with little will be negatively impacted. I need to think everything through and see how difficult it will be on the user with limited resources.

I started the curation project to assist those with little to make some gains. It will be difficult on some. Some will find a way. I remember when the powers that be made changes that impacted earnings on posts or curating. I paid out more to curators than a post earned for a couple of months at least. At least this time I am getting word on a few that already raised rates. Initially the indication of fee raising was to somehow curtail those that were causing problems. In reality it will have minimal impact on most of those people. But it will be felt the hardest by those who do not need it.

I better publish this so I get my mind off of it. I have a post mostly ready for this weekend. New photos. I have many other photos I have recently taken that I am sorting through in the event I continue.

Thank you for your comment.

I typically begin my day between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m.

For many months now I try to wake up every day around 5 AM, sometimes 4-4:30, other times 6, it was a bit harder in the beginning but now I got used to it. Those 3-4 hours from 4 am 'till 9 am are usually the best hours of my day, that is what I call ME time. There is no noise pollution, and almost no sounds except the neighboring crows that also start their day around that time. There are no phone calls and nobody needs anything from me around those hours. Sometimes if I'm too lazy I can skip a couple of hours and wake up a bit late, but after waking up I'm pissed with myself because I waste some of my ME time.

You are right on it being "me" time. I get so much accomplished in such a short time.
