I used to sing well until my vocal cords got damaged. I couldn't talk without feeling pain, I couldn't sing either, in summary, the capacity at which I used to use my voice reduced a whole lot.
Unless I was in a situation where It was compulsory to speak, I barely used my voice and if I would speak, you wouldn't hear me well. On some ocassions, when I wasn't talking I was in excruciating pain. Infact, I stopped singing. I stopped singing at home, and in church.
It was very hard for me because singing was 'my life' infact I went into depression, I prayed and prayed but still there was no answer from God. I went to the hospital incessantly for the same issue but all they gave me were antibiotics that worked temporarily.
So there was this day I was asked to lead a song for youth Sunday which held every third Sunday of every month in the church, which was the next day. I couldn't say no because even if I tried giving up on music I couldn't. So, I went for rehearsals.
Having seen my performance, they were like, Praise, what's wrong ? Long story short, I told them my issue, and asked to be replaced with one of my colleagues but they insisted I took the song and I had no choice but to obey.
The next day, the D-Day, I was nervous, praise and worship was going on but I couldn't concentrate. Having battled with the spirit of fear, the Holy Spirit saw through my fears and Immediately I felt like praying (I haven't prayed in a while because I was struggling with trusting God, you know, having prayed and prayed and gotten no answer).
So I took my leave from the church service, went with my colleagues and we left for the children department where we prayed for some munites. I even tested my voice in the bathroom after prayer😁 it worked perfectly bit I was still feeling pain but we returned to church.
We were soon called and.... Drum rolls please😁 I took the song perfectly and without pain too😄😄. I couldn't believe it! Glory to God!
