Hello blurt blog lovers..
The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque or the Aceh Sultanate Mosque is a historic mosque located in Banda Aceh City, Aceh Province, Indonesia. The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque is a relic of the Kingdom of Aceh which is a symbol of religion, culture and the struggle of the Acehnese people.
The reason is, this mosque is not only a center of religious activities and a witness to the glory of the Kingdom of Aceh, but has also been used as a defense base against attacks by invaders.
The Baiturrahman Grand Mosque was built by Sultan Iskandar Muda, the king of Aceh from 1607-1636, in 1612 AD.
In its history, this mosque was burned by the Dutch, but survived when it was hit by the enormity of the 2004 tsunami.
