Good morning Blurt friends, on this occasion I want to show you a photo of a mushroom that I found in the Aceh forest when I wanted to look for a photo object two days ago. I took this mushroom in the forest in my area, coincidentally when I was looking for a photo object for my post. As I was walking through the forest, I found this mushroom growing on an old mossy tree.
Ceriaporus squamosus or Polyporus squamosus is a basidiomycete bracket fungus, with common names including saddle dryad and birdback mushroom. It has a wide distribution, found in North America, Australia, Asia, and Europe, where it causes white rot in the cores of living and dead hardwood trees. The name "saddle dryad" refers to a creature in Greek mythology called a dryad that could possibly fit and ride this mushroom, while the analogy of a pheasant's back comes from the color patterns on the brackets that match the pheasant's back.
