See the beauty of Negros Oriental!!! Mountains, beaches, waterfalls. Got an appetite for adventure? Come on in!
Camp Gangis , Valencia Philippines
At first I didn't know that this place exist until one day I had an adventure in Limotakna. Limotakna is a a jump off area to the Famed 'Casaroro waterfalls.' I am so fascinated to this nature of water, so majestic that I keep on coming back. Unfortunately it rained that day when I arrived in the area so I decided to changed my route. Why changed? Because that is to avoid a dangerous flashflood coming from the mountain, there's no way to escaped from the water. Tourists are warn to never venture the waterfalls because many have lost their lives due to flashflood.
I can see the waterfalls creek from on top
What leads me here in this camp? Well, from Limotakna parking lot, I saw a sign post with an arrow that says ' To Camp Gangis'. Of course I don't wanna go home with frustration, without hesitation I pulled out the trekking pole which I always carry with me in the motorbike box and the water bottle, to complete the exciting unknown journey. After a five minute walked I could see the creek and panoramic view of the city. That keeps me so excited what's ahead of that forest and what this place look like.

And then I reached arrived here, I was surprised! There's camping ground here!!! And it's not Camp Gangis yet...For me it's another world, I just discovered another world that day! It looks like abandoned..for years...no one is around. So I checked the place, every single nipa hut I checked but you can check it yourself if you like.. lol.
Nipa huts were all empty , I think the pandemic has ruined this beautiful camp site, we all know the strict protocol and people are also scared to catch covid. I blame covid for this...
I leave the place behind and continued hoping to catch a glimpse of Camp Gangis..and meanwhile...I could see a gate made of bamboo with a sign post hanging on it and it says' closed'. I also notice the path like no one have ever trodden for months or so. Where are the people? Were they eaten by zombies? At least I want to see a care taker.
I decided to enter in and looked around...I heard voices! Did it ever made me glad when I heard people. Two people sitting freely, feeling at home in the place, they were hikers like me and they too were astonished by the abandoned camp site.
It's the best place to relax and escape from the city buzz. From here, we can see Dumaguete, the capital city of the island. You will definitely enjoy the panoramic view of mountains and oceans.
Fore sure during the night you'll feel the cold breeze and see the beautiful city lights.
The presence of the rooster is an indication that there's somebody or farmer who monitor the place or maybe just plain farmer. It's usual to pet a rooster. I was hoping to meet someone here so I would be able to know the reason behind this closure of activities. It is such a perfect place for camping or just unwinding, why it has to be closed. This thought left me mystified...Of course I couldn't keep my mouth shut about this adventure and told my friends convincing them to camp along with me but it never happen yet due to their work schedule. The fact is and I'm sure this place is so perfect for camping, star gazing, fireflies sightseeing, and city light watching. What do you think? I love these stuff. I'm afraid to stop right here, but sure I'll be sharing more about hikes and mountain climbing. If you like my post, stay tune for more adventures.
