You are a reflection of what goes inside you. Although you may not literally transform into the things you eat or take in, like becoming an apple or those chocolates but your input determines your output ultimately because our nutritional choices contribute essentially in our overall health.
My emphasis is on foods that are known to help maintain or improve our overall health. The risk of developing health issues like neurological problems later in life can be prevented by eating the right foods which keeps the brain and overall system healthy.
I have seen my parents being medically advised to take certain foods in order to complement deficiencies of certain essential body nutrients which are traceable foundation for their current overall health status. It wasn't their fault as they were fed with whatever food available growing up, no much changes even till adulthood.
After they experienced certain imbalance and malfunctioning health system, they were medically informed to improve their diet routines in addition to other medications. Now they are doing well and i was obviously informed too so, now i also know better.
Imbalances in brain and body hormonal functionality are present in many conditions, including schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, autism, and Parkinson’s disease. Most medications target these deficiencies to allow the body to receive more or less of certain needed chemicals in the body, while some drugs act similar to these chemicals to invoke similar responses in the body.
Here are some foods that are known to be helpful for balance body and brain functionality:
Leafy greens such as broccoli, collards, spinach, and kale contain various nutrients such as vitamin K, lutein, folate, and beta carotene. Vitamin K helps with the formation of fat inside brain cells and has been seen to improve many. My parent don't joke with vegetables, so i'm a fan of vegetables also, I love taking fresh vegetables and I always feel healthy afterwards.
Nuts contain healthy fats, antioxidants, and vitamin E, which have been found to be beneficial for both the brain and heart. Walnuts, in particular, also contain omega-3 fatty acids to further improve brain function. In fact, nuts have been seen to improved cognition, sharper memory, and slower mental decline.
From chemistry knowlegde and personal experiences i can say Eggs have abundance of B vitamins and deficiencies in B vitamins have been associated with depression and dementia. I personally like eggs and i can have it in different forms but I like it often semi-boiled. I always feel active after eating eggs.
Also certain fruits such as oranges, peppers, guava, kiwi, tomatoes, and strawberries, contain high amounts of vitamin C. Vitamin C helps prevent body and brain cells from becoming damaged and supports overall health. I try to take fruits atleast once a day.. I'm a fan of Oranges and Apples. I always feel refreshed whenever I take fruits constantly unlike times i was busy drinking soda or carbonate drinks.
Whole grains such as bread, pasta, barley, brown rice, oatmeal, and wheats contain vitamin E, which often protect and preserve healthy cells.
Fish such as trout, salmon, and sardines contain large amounts of omega-3 fatty acids. It is essential in the production of brain and nerve cells. Deficiencies in omega 3s can cause learning problems and depression. I think fish is more nutritional as compared to meats.
So! maintaining a balance in the overall body, brain chemicals and hormones is key to feeling a balanced mood. This can be maintained to some extent through correct, balanced diet, limited stress, and exercise. You can include few of these food into your diet routine and observe changes in your functionality and moods. There are many other foods not mentioned in this post. I will appreciate your contributions in the comments session..
