Prior for my dialysis I would eat, shower, and hot compress my body to relieve the itch on my skin, a prophylaxis that I do so that I will not get uncomfortable while sitting for more than four hours while getting my dialysis treatment.
I haven't done anything different this morning as I had done my usual stuff and not changed anything about my regular "rituals" before going out and yet my blood pressure went down about 1and 1/2 hours after being hooked-up. But compared to flash crash which goes back up immediately I have to receive an infusion of saline solution otherwise it will not go back up.
I did targeted a lighter body weight and after an hour I can already feel the changes as if most of the extra fluid was taken off during the first hour and then 30 minutes after that I can already feel the weakened blood pump of my heart, I started to feel lightheaded.
I have no choice but to notify my nurse so she can mitigate. I just hate when it happens because it will mean that I will not be able to target my dry weight plus they will reduce the speed of the blood pump and thus affecting the quality of my dialysis.
So my nurse had added some Saline solution to my system which works fast to elevate the blood pressure again, she bypassed the treatment for about 20 minutes and then turned it on again to resume the water-drawing and the blood cleaning session.
But at least I was able to finish my treatment because my BP didn't crashed again. I was wondering still why the blood pressure crashed an hour and a half after getting hooked-up while usually when it happens it is about after two hours and a half. So this is not day for getting the best treatment but I thank God that I had received my crucial need for cleaning-out my blood and taking off extra fluids from my body making me feel at ease with my breathing again.
To top it all this small mouse crawled up around my body while I was waiting for my wheelchair to roll me out of the treatment center. I thought it went into my t-shirt, it was to fast that I didn't see it while crawled into my body, what a day!😆
