Talk about the Upvoting on Blurt

in r2cornell •  3 years ago  (edited)

A few days ago, I read a senior's post about the upvoting on blurt. It was mentioned in the post that if you wanted to get the best benefit, the number of 100% upvoting posts per day should not exceed 10.

This suddenly aroused my interest and I therefore wanted to talk about the topic of upvoting on blurt.

1.We find that the big fish (whale, dolphin, etc.) often wait low in the water and rarely come to the surface, which increase their mystery. And those active on the water surface are small fish. This is a natural phenomenon, which also applies to blurt. Big fish rarely make upvoting, especially 100% upvoting. Even they make an upvoting at a certain proportion, because they own super BP, even 10% upvoting will have dozens or even hundreds of blurts. It's really a bit of the Chinese saying--" it never rains but it pours ".

2.The Chinese saying--"the poor are generous and the rich are stingy", which also applies to the upvoting on blurt. For a long time, I, as a minnow, don't cherish my voting power at all. I often make upvoting at 100% or at least 50%, and the number of upvoted posts is far more than 10 every day. No wonder my voting power is consumed so fast, only about 30%. But I find that the voting power of the big fish can be maintained very well. As everyone knows, it's not easy to make money which can't be spent easily. Even if you spend it, you should be careful. The poor have no experience of making money and do not understand cost-benefit analysis. Moreover, because their upvoting is of little value, they do not cherish it so much, so they appear to be generous.

3.One should understand that others have no obligation to upvote you for free. You should upvote in terms of the quality and content of the post, without relying on the human relationship. If you upvote the posts written by people you know, whatever they are or how they are written, this is narrow and unfair. Our ancestors already knew the truth of "Great kindness turns into hatred". You always upvote someone, and he or she is used to that, taking it for granted. If one day you don't upvote, or the proportion of upvoting decreases, it will invite dissatisfaction and even resentment. Therefore, if you are selfless and take the post quality as the standard, you won't bring trouble to yourself.

4.Don't count on the upvotes of your relatives and friends, you should constantly improve yourself, letting more people pay attention to you and upvote you.

Few insurance salesmen are capable to stay in the end and make some achievements. The vast majority of them have painstakingly asked their relatives and friends to buy insurance. After temporarily completing their tasks, they can no longer expand market business and only have to leave the insurance company in the end. Just like posting on blurt, no one upvotes it except a few people you know, so it's difficult for you to continue on blurt.

Therefore, if you want to get more benefits from posts, you must go beyond your own small circle, write high-quality content, and know more people, especially people in other communities, so as to achieve long-term development on blurt.

Upvoting can be different according to the person. While someone votes 10 votes per day some one try to vote as much as he can without considering VP. But the question is, Is that really valuable for users who receive our vote. What I experienced in my Steemit journey, when we vote beyond the 80% or 90% we gradually decrease the Vote value also. So users get low value from me.

So I always try to maintain my Vp with 80% and beyond that I will keep the account to recharge. In the meantime if I met a quality content, I just comment on them and After recharging I vote on that post.

I've followed you just now. You joined blurt less than 20 days ago, but you have achieved a lot on this platform. From the last words of the above comment you made on my post, I've got the answer. --"So I always try to maintain my Vp with 80% and beyond that I will keep the account to recharge. In the meantime if I met a quality content, I just comment on them and After recharging I vote on that post." How great and wonderful it is.

Yeah. I am new to blurt. But I have been steemit more than 2 years and still there. So I have some idea about curation & other things. Thank you for following.

Though I joined steemit in July 2017, I have half knowledge of curation. I am sure I could learn many things from you in the future. Best regards.
