On the weekend I went to a pet store to buy some fish for my daughters, I promised to buy some very nice fish that we saw a few days ago, but on the weekend there were no more fish, there were only some birds and some acures.

El fin de semana fui a una tienda de mascotas para comprar unos peces para mis hijas, les prometí comprar unos peces muy bonitos que vimos días atrás, pero el fin de semana ya no habían peces, solo quedaban algunas aves y unos acures.

Here in Venezuela these animals are called acures, but searching in google the name given to them in other countries is: cobaya or guinea pig, people call them mice, the truth is that these seem pretty to me, unlike hamsters, which I see ugly, they make me cringe because they are elastic and although I think that acures and hamsters are family, they have a lot of differences, mainly in their texture since acures are tougher, similar to rabbits. However, it is an animal that I would never have as a pet, my daughters were excited to see them and asked me to buy one for them, but I would never have one of these.

Aquí en Venezuela estos animales se llaman acures, pero buscando en google el nombre que se le da en otros países es: cobayo o guinea pig, la gente les dice ratones, la verdad que estos me parecen bonitos a diferencia de los hamster, que los veo feo, me dan grima porque son elásticos y aunque creo que los acures y los hamster son familia, tienen mucha diferencias, pincipalmente en su contextura ya que los acures son más duros, parecidos a los conejos. Sin embargo es un animal que jamás tendría como mascota, mis hijas se emocionaron al verlos y me pedían que les comprara uno, pero no tendría jamás uno de estos.

El muchacho de la tienda les dió comida en ese momento y ellos se alborotaron y empezaron a hacer un sonido similar a los ratones y allí más mi rechazo a tenerlos como mascotas, se afianzó. En cierta forma los relaciono con ratones, prefiero un ave, un gato, cualquiera menos uno de estos, a pesar de ser bonitos.

The diet is very similar to that of rabbits, the boy gave them carrots, and he told me that you can also give them other vegetables. We were there for a while until they finished eating and then when I told my daughters to leave, little Cami didn't want to leave, she really likes animals and wanted me to buy her something, but I only went for fish, which was the most accessible and they are also animals that do not require much attention, so for now, our tortoise Katy is still the queen of pets in our house.

La alimentación es muy parecida a la de los conejos, el muchacho les dio zanahorias, y me dijo que también se les puede dar otros vegetales. Estuvimos allí por un rato hasta que terminaron de comer y luego cuando le dije a mis hijas para irnos, la pequeña Cami no quería irse, a ella le gusta mucho los animales y quería que le comprara algo, pero yo solo fui por peces que era lo más accesible y además son animales que no requieren mucha atención, así que por ahora, nuestra tortuga Katy sigue siendo la reina de las mascota en nuestra casa.
