অসুস্থ হলে আসলে বোঝা যায় সুস্থতা কত বড় নিয়ামত। গতকাল থেকে প্রচন্ড অসুস্থ। গতকাল সকালে শরীরটা একটু অসুস্থ বোধ করলাম এবং বিছানায় শুয়ে পড়লাম কিছুক্ষণ বিশ্রাম নেওয়ার জন্য। ওই যে ঘুমিয়ে পড়েছিলাম আজকে দুপুরে জাগনা পেয়েছি। শরীরে জোর পাচ্ছি না। এর কারণ, কাল সারাদিন দিন গেছে সারারাত গেছে কোনো খাবারই আমার পেটে ঢোকেনি। সারাদিন সারারাত না খেয়ে থাকার কারণে উঠে যে দাঁড়াবো সেই শক্তিও পাচ্ছি না। শরীরে প্রচন্ড জ্বর৷ জ্বরের চোটে হাত পা কাপছে৷ জীবনে অনেকবার জ্বরকে ফেস করেছি কিন্তু এবারের জ্বর আমাকে এতটাই কাবু করে ফেলেছে যা ভাষায় বলে বোঝাতে পারবো না৷

হসপিটালে গিয়ে দেখলাম রোগীর সংখ্যা বহু৷ ঐসব রোগীর মধ্যে জ্বরের রোগী সবচেয়ে বেশি৷ হয়তো আবহাওয়া পরিবর্তনের ফলে এমনটা হচ্ছে। কয়েকদিন যাবৎ লক্ষ্য করছি আমাদের কমিউনিটির অনেক সদস্য জ্বর সমস্যায় ভুগছেন৷ শেষমেশ আমিও জ্বরে আক্রান্ত হয়ে গেলাম। এখন শীতমৌসুম৷ জ্বরও ঠান্ডা জনিত সমস্যা। এসময়ে আসলে অনেকেই জ্বরে ভুগবেন এটাই স্বাভাবিক। কিন্তু জ্বরের প্রকোপ এতটাই বেড়ে গেছে যে আমার উপর এক্সপেরিমেন্ট না করলে হয়তো ব্যাপারটা আমার বোধগম্য হতো না৷
ঔষধ খাওয়ার পর এখন কিছুটা হলেও একটু সুস্থ।তাই লেখার ইচ্ছা পোষণ করলাম। কিন্তু ঠিকভাবে লিখতে পারছি না, হাত কাঁপছে৷
যদিও অসুস্থতার উপর মানুষ হিসেবে আমাদের কোন হাত নেই, তবুও আমাদের করা কিছু অনিয়মের কারণে অসুস্থ হয়ে পড়তে হয়। অনেক দিন যাবৎ বাসায় আছি৷ রাজশাহী থেকেও অসুস্থ হয়ে বাসায় ফিরেছিলাম। বাসায় কিছুদিন থাকার পর সুস্থও হয়ে উঠেছিলাম। সুস্থ হওয়ার পর চলাফেরায় কিছু অনিয়ম করছি বলেই আজ আমি প্রচন্ড অসুস্থ। কোনোদিন সন্ধ্যায় গোসল করেছি, আবার কোনো দিন অনেক রাত পর্যন্ত কুয়াশার মধ্যে বাহিরে ঘুরেছি৷ যার মাশুল দিতে হচ্ছে এখন৷
খুব খেয়াল রাখা জরুরি, গ্রীষ্মকালে যেভাবেই দিনযাপন করুন না কেনো শীতের সময় একটু হলেও চলাফেরায় পরিবর্তন আনা উচিত৷ নইলে যেকোনো অসুখ যেকোনো সময় হানা দিতে সক্ষম।
