Changes in duties and responsibilities in adulthood

In early adulthood, there are often changes in duties and responsibilities. For example, there are family duties, especially to support economic life and the responsibility to guide children. To support economic life, adults tend to change to emphasize the importance of money and highly value physical health to get that money.

Because of this, many of them have a strong interest in money and physical energy. The responsibility of educating children is likely to encourage adults to take a strong interest in religion, something that may have been neglected in their youth.

As a result, the things that a person approaching middle age are interested in, are few compared to the interests he or she already had in the person's first years of adulthood. With the change in duties and responsibilities, in general there is a shift in priority to new interests. New interests will arise if there is a change in the environment, for example moving residence in a different area.

The variety of interests in early adulthood is overwhelming in terms of numbers. Based on expert research, these very diverse interests can also be identified based on the large number of people who experience them and the position of the interests concerned for many people.

The process of changing interests in general, occurs almost along the line of life. Changes in interest in the process can be caused by changes in life patterns, changes in duties and responsibilities and changes in status.

Many adults have carried certain traits of interest since they were teenagers or even long before that. However, in line with changes in adult life patterns, there can also be changes in interests, either in the form of changes in the amount of what is in demand, changes in priority, interests and even the emergence of new interests.

The pattern of life during adolescence tends to be colored by association in peer groups. In early adulthood, it is more likely to be colored by family life. Therefore, interest in adulthood is more emphasized in things that support family life, such as money and a house.

Adolescents generally retain their interests as they move into adulthood. But interest in later adulthood will change as well. This is because in adult life it is not in accordance with the role as an adult, while others no longer provide the original satisfaction.

Changes in interest usually occur very quickly in adolescence, such as physical and psychological changes. If the change diminishes, the change in interest also decreases. The shift in interests that characterizes early adulthood is a reduction in interests. Adolescents tend to reduce their interests rather than change to new ones.
