Assalamu Alaikum Asa Kari you all are fine by the grace of Allah I am also fine. Today I will share with you whether the sun goes around the world?

Does the sun go around the world?

Answer: The venerable Shaykh replied that the clear proofs of the Shari'ah prove that the sun revolves around the earth. Due to this rotation, day and night occur on earth. We have no evidence stronger than these, by which we can explain the evidence of the rotation of the sun. The proofs of the rotation of the sun are Allah Ta'ala says,

﴿فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَأۡتِي بِٱلشَّمۡسِ مِنَ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقِ فَأۡتِ بِهَا مِنَ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبِ﴾ [البقرة: ٢٥٨]

"Allah Ta'ala makes the sun rise from the east. Rise from the west if you can.” [Surah al-Baqarah, verse: 258] The rising of the sun from the east is a clear proof that the sun travels over the earth.

1/.Allah says,

﴿فَلَمَّا رَءَا ٱلشَّمۡسَ بَازِغَةٗ قَالَ هَٰذَا رَبِّي هَٰذَآ أَكۡبَرُۖ فَلَمَّآ أَفَلَتۡ قَالَ يَٰقَوۡمِ إِنِّي بَرِيٓءٞ مِّمَّا تُشۡرِكُونَ ٧٨﴾ [الانعام: ٧٨]

"Then when he saw the sun rising in brightness, he said, 'This is my Lord, this is greater.' Then when it sank, he said, O my people! I am free from all that you share." [Surah Al-An'am, Verse: 78]

Here it is determined that the sun disappears. It is not said that the earth sank from the sun. If the earth revolved, it would certainly be said.

2/.Allah says,

﴿وَتَرَى ٱلشَّمۡسَ إِذَا طَلَعَت تَّزَٰوَرُ عَن كَهۡفِهِمۡ ذَاتَ ٱلۡيَمِينِ وَإِذَا غَرَبَت تَّقۡرِضُهُمۡ ذَاتَ ٱلشِّمَالِ﴾ [الكهف: ١٧]

"You will see the sun, when it rises, passes from their cave to the right and when it sets, passes from them to the left." [Surat al-Kahf, verse 17] Crossing the side to the right or to the left proves that the movement is from the sun. If the earth was moving, then they would say that the sun would pass through the cave. Rising and setting are relative to the Sun. From this it can be understood that the sun rotates. not the world

3/.Allah says,

﴿وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ ٣٣﴾ [الانبياء: ٣٣]

“And He it is who created the day and night and the moon and the sun. Everyone walks his own path.” [Surah Al-Ambiyyah, Verse: 33]

Ibn Abbas said, As Latim revolves around its central point, so does the sun.

4/.Allah says,

﴿يُغۡشِي ٱلَّيۡلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ يَطۡلُبُهُۥ حَثِيثٗا﴾ [الاعراف: ٥٤]

"He covers the night with the day, the day runs after the night." [Surah Al-A'raf, Verse: 54]

The verse explains the night as the searcher of the day. The searcher searches quickly back and forth. It should be known that day and night follow the Sun.

5/.Allah says:

﴿خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ بِٱلۡحَقِّۖ يُكَوِّرُ ٱلَّيۡلَ عَلَى ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ ٱلنَّهَارَ عَلَى ٱلَّيۡلِۖ وَسَخَّرَ ٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ يَجۡرِي لِأَجَلٖ مُّسَمًّىۗ أَلَا هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفَّٰرُ ٥﴾ [الزمر: ٥]

“He created the heavens and the earth in perfect order. He covers the night with the day and the day with the night, and He makes the sun and the moon work. Everyone roams for a certain period of time. Know that He is Mighty, Forgiving.” [Surah Az-Jumar, Verse: 5]

Through the verse we came to know that day and night are moving on the earth. If the earth revolved then he would say, The earth revolves on day and night. Allah Ta'ala says, "Every one of the sun and the moon is moving". Through all these documents it was known that the sun and the moon are clearly moving from one place to another. It is obvious that subduing and exploiting moving objects is more rational than exploiting stationary objects.

6/.Allah says,

﴿وَٱلشَّمۡسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ١ وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ٢﴾ [الشمس: ١، ٢]

"By the sun and its rays, by the moon when it comes behind the sun." [Surah Ash-Shams, Verses: 1-2]

Here it is said that the moon comes after the sun. This proves that the Sun and the Moon move and revolve over the Earth. If the earth revolved around the moon or the sun, the moon would not follow the sun. Rather, the moon followed the sun once, and the sun followed the moon once. Because the sun is far above the moon. There is something to think about in accepting evidence for the earth's stability with this verse.

7/.Almighty Allah says,

﴿وَٱلشَّمۡسُ تَجۡرِي لِمُسۡتَقَرّٖ لَّهَاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ ٣٨ وَٱلۡقَمَرَ قَدَّرۡنَٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلۡعُرۡجُونِ ٱلۡقَدِيمِ ٣٩ لَا ٱلشَّمۡسُ يَنۢبَغِي لَهَآ أَن تُدۡرِكَ ٱلۡقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيۡلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِۚ وَكُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ ٤٠﴾ [يس: ٣٨، ٤٠]

“The sun revolves in its fixed position. It is the decree of Almighty, All-Knowing Allah. I have fixed various destinations for the moon. Finally he became like an old palm branch. It is not possible for the sun to reach the moon. It is not possible for the night to advance the day. Everyone travels in their own orbit.” [Surah Yasin, Verses: 38-40]

The movement of the sun and the interpretation of this movement as the determination of Almighty Allah proves that the sun is indeed moving. And because of this movement day-night and seasons change. Destining for Moon means that she moves to her destinations. If the earth was rotating, then the destination would have been fixed for the earth. Not for the moon. The Moon not being overtaken by the Sun and the night preceding the day bear evidence of the movement of the Sun, Moon, day and night.

8/.The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to Abu Zar when the sun was setting:

«أَتَدْرِي أَيْنَ تَذْهَبُ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا تَذْهَبُ حَتَّى تَسْجُدَ تَحْتَ الْعَرْشِ فَتَسْتَأْذِنَ فَيُؤْذَنُ لَهَا وَيُوشِكُ أَنْ تَسْجُدَ فَلَا يُقْبَلَ مِنْهَا وَتَسْتَأْذِنَ فَلَا يُؤْذَنَ لَهَا يُقَالُ لَهَا ارْجِعِي مِنْ حَيْثُ جِئْتِ فَتَطْلُعُ مِنْ مَغْرِبِهَا»

"O Abu Zar! Do you know where the sun goes when it sets? Abu Dharr said, Allah and His Messenger know best. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, "When the sun sets, go under the throne and prostrate yourself and ask for permission to rise again." Then he was allowed. The day is not far off when he will seek permission but will not be granted it. He will be told to go back to where you came from. Then the sun will rise from the west.”[1]

It will be just before the Hour. Allah will say to the sun, go back to where you came from, then the fact that the sun rises from the west clearly proves that the sun revolves over the earth and it is through this revolution that the rising and setting takes place.

9/.It is known through numerous hadiths that rising, setting and falling are associated with the sun. It is very obvious that they are emitted from the sun. Not from the world. Maybe there is more evidence in this regard. I don't remember them at the moment. But what I have mentioned will open the door to the matter, and will be sufficient to accomplish what I intended.
