Recently, I heard a story from my friend that made me realize the importance of being cautious about safety while traveling.
Last week, my friend was on a bus when he noticed someone who looked like a homeless person getting on board, carrying a broom. Initially finding the person a bit odd, my friend eventually shifted his attention to his phone, and everything seemed fine.
When my friend was about to get off, he didn't realize that the homeless-looking person was sitting in front of him. As my friend stood up and grabbed the pole for support, he accidentally touched the person lightly. Suddenly, the homeless individual seemed possessed, muttering something and raising the broom as if to strike my friend. My friend was dumbfounded, apologized, and the homeless person got off the bus on his own.
The other passengers who witnessed this were probably shocked by the incident. Everyone was caught off guard, and although some kind-hearted individuals inquired about my friend's safety afterward, he mentioned that he remained relatively calm during the encounter. However, the thought of what could have happened if the broom had come down lingered in his mind.
After hearing this story, I've been awakened to the importance of safety, especially when traveling alone. While enjoying the freedom of exploration, personal safety should always be a top priority. Anything unrelated to safety is trivial and can be brushed off. Today, I am fortunate to be alive and well, and that in itself is a blessing!
