Swimming is a sporting activity that involves deeping the body into the water through the use of various skills like breaststroke, butterfly stroke, etc.
It also refers to the act of sustaining the body in water without drowning.
Sports generally is said to have so many health benefits and swimming is no exception.
The various health benefits of swimming include:

- It builds muscle mass

- It serves as an alternative when injured
- It relaxes the body during hot weather
IT BUILDS CARDIORESPIRATORY FITNESS
Unlike fishes and other aquatic animals that live in water, man is a terrestrial animal.
However when one swims, it tends to improve the endurance level of the person.
Also maximum oxygen consumption is improved and the heart strength is improved.
IF BUILDS BODY MUSCLE MASS
Another health benefit of swimming is that it increases the triceps muscle (the back of the arm). Swimming involves resisting the water pressure and this act goes a long way to build and improve the muscles.
Certainly being able to float in water requires the use of strength so as to effectively resist the water pressure thus toning and improving the muscles.

Another striking health benefit of Swimming is that it burns calories.
