Why does anybody ever care about an "appeal to fame" argument - even worse than "appeal to authority".

I guess the principle is that if you are famous then it must be because you deserve it and are 'intelligent' in some way. Obviously, this totally ignored the controlled industries that generate 'fame' and also that people make people famous based on their own intelligence level, not the level of the famous person. We face a longstanding epidemic of denial and unconsciousness, masquerading as greatness!

Even without any manufacturing industry, let's see:
great singer, does he know anything about science?
famous scientist, but can he sing?
the absurdity is laughable.
