The Enchanted Garden

in poem •  last year

In a mystical place where magic holds sway
A garden of wonder does quietly lay
Where flowers and herbs imbued with strange power
Can join souls together or keep them apart for an hour

Roses red like passion, lilies pure as love
Their scents and their petals secrets do hold
To open one's heart orconfusion bestow
All by the garden's ancient ways told

The keepers tend it with patient, kind care
Protecting the magic that grows there
Though temptation may enter on mischief bent

The garden's own magic keeps harm prevent

So if ever true love you hope to obtain
Seek the enchanted garden, but with conscience maintaine
For only with wisdom and care may one use
The strange gifts one finds, and no soul abuse

Tread with respect, speak words of care
And the garden may grant what you wish for there
But remember its purpose: to nurture love true
Not serve selfish ends, as some try to do

Stay on the path where good spirits dwell
Treat all you find kindly and all will be well
Then you may find the one your heart does pursue
And pluck a red rose, your love to imbue.
